Default Source for low cost self-ordered lab work?

Hi,

I live in southern California and am looking for a lab to run vitamin and mineral tests. I will be self-ordering.

Anyone know of a source that is lower in cost (in general)?

Thanks.

You will have to check all the labs for the tests you want. I have found checking prices that one lab will have a high price on cholesterol tests, but lower cost on say thyroid. DirectLabs has monthly specials, SaveonLabs has Doctor designed packages, and RequestATest has panels like Mag.Zinc.Copper that would save over individual. Vitamin and mineral tests might be a bigger market and better priced at a lab that focuses on 'natural' health.
I’ve been surprised by the price ranges for same test, you'll have to check around.

Thanks for the 3 lab names though! I'll work on it tomorrow.

Many labs out there now, just google direct to Consumer laboratory tests.
Health check USA is another, but just looked at its landing page, Vit D is "on sale" for $95. Direct labs has that for $59 and one month a year has it on special for $49.
Once you set up an on-line account to order the tests, inertia takes over I started with Direct Labs, the blood draw office is nearby and has a women expert at painlessly drawing blood, easier to stay with them unless the price difference is large. Lab Corp is getting into this market themselves...that may change the pricing so I do check.

You might also ask about a cash paid discount

Do you know a lab that does that? With the ones I know, everything happens on line. Test selection, paid for by CC, the doctor's "order", selection of blood draw site and making appointment, and results.

Update, even though LabCorp announced it was getting into this market themselves, I have not seen any ads or evidence for it yet. They are rolling out a joint facility at some Walgreens (one near me, many in Florida) but you have to bring a Physicians order.
