As pointed out by Mr Thunder, Superdrug are stocking Carbolite bars, which are sweetened with Splenda. They come in milk chocolate (0.2g net carbs), chocolate crisp (1.3g net carbs) and chocolate almond (0.9g net carbs)

99p each for a 28g bar.

They do have Splenda in them but maltitol is the main sweetener. That's the one that does the Tummy Thing.

Good call LisaUK - wee logo on the front saying "With Sweetner Splenda" but the main ingredient is malitol. That's a bit cheeky!

That's what I thought! They still make your tummy go 'oooooo'.

Find of the day here: M&S Aberdeen Angus Sausages flavoured with red wine and caramelised onions. 0.3g per sausage so that's a grand total of...1.8 grams of carbs per sausage!

They are stunning. I'm eating one right now and it's gorgeous.

Thought I'd share this!!! Popped into M&S this lunchtime to get some salad dressing and found some low carb (2.5g & 2.6g) crackers next to the cookies!! I bought the Wheaten Crackers one and had some with cheese after my salad - really yummy. Very moorish though so exercise some willpower before opening the pack!!

Waitrose do great sausages with very little added cereal and also do nearly 100% Aberdeen Angus beefburgers which taste excellent. Both really helpful for induction.

I've just found some brilliant chocolates which are low carb and don't taste funny. Thorntons duiabetic selection are only 10g of carbs for a whole 115g packet.

Default No added sugar cranberry juice in Tescos

Tescos now have 3 varieties of 'no added sugar' cranberry juice in their "Tesco Healthy Liviing" range. The cranberry juice is 1.8g for a 250ml glass, cranberry and rasberry is 2g for a 250ml glass and there is also a cranberry and orange one which I haven't got the stats for. I tried the first two this week and very nice they are too! They also contain useful amounts of vitamin C.

Just a follow on - I bought the cranberry one with orange today. It's 2.5g for a 250ml glass...and it tastes very very good!

In my local H&B I found SWEET 'N LOW chocolate bars..

Plain, milk and white Belgain chocolate..

bewarey tho, sweetned with maltitol (AKA runny tummy)

They also did SF lollie pops (on the lable it recommends no more than 1 lollie a day) and sugar free mints.

Holland & Barratt are pretty good for LC stuff. They do their own brand of 90% soy protein powder for 6.99 which is a nice addition to the baking cupboard. The sweet n low bars aren't too heavy on the tummy and they do taste nice.

Benjy's (the sandwich shop) are now doing a whole LC selection - their spicy lamb meatballs are to die for! Oh and they're working on low carb bread too.

Default Taco shells

I can't get any low carb tortillas as they seem to be out of stock everywhere. However I've discoverd Old El Paso Taco shells are only 6-7 carbs per shell . Fill them with chicken cooked in Taco seasoning plus grated cheese, add some salad and guacamole for a great meal.

This is supposed to go to the UK supermarkets thread so can you move it to the right place? Thanks

Default M&S Butcher's style sausages

We had this new sausage this morning, and I don't think it's been mentioned in here.
6 to a pack of 400g, 1.15 net carbs per sausage. Nice and fat, with a crisp skin.

I liked them better than Sainsbury's Cajun, SB's chipolata and Waitrose extra lean premium, which are the only other LC ones we have found so far.

Hi LisaUK, just read your post about the Benjy's meatballs. I tried them when they first came out and couldn't get enough... until I looked at the carb content that is...15.5g per pack!!! I almost screamed in the shop! Don't know who told them that 15.5 grams per serving was low carb but I thought I'd let you know before you had any more!! The first few times I got them the carb content was not listed. So please be careful! Their chicken wings are ok heated and they're only 4g per pack.

15.5???????? Good grief! When I looked at the ingredients (no carb count when I bought them) all it said was meat and spices. What the hell do they have in the darned things to get that carb count? I think an email to Benjy's is on its way. If they try to tell me they cater to 'all levels' of Atkins again though, I'll hit them
