Default Tofutti Ice Cream

I found a fantastic Ice Cream treat last night. I was at Trader Joes stocking up on LC Cookies, because they are my one splurge. Well, I looked at the Atkins Ice Cream and next to it I saw these yummy looking Ice Cream bars.... Chocolate covered Vanilla Ice Cream with a Chocolate center.

So, just for grins, I decided to check out the nutritional info and noticed that they said Sugar free and dairy free. Ok, things look good. They do have a small amount sugar alchohols and are sweetened with Nutrasweet. But when all is said and done, they boil down to 4 net carbs per Ice cream bar.

And they are good! So, I just wanted to recommend these as a treat for when you just need something yummy. The brand is Tofutti. Not sure where else you can get them...

Blue Bunny makes a similar ice-cream bar sweetened with Splenda. They're 6 net carbs per bar and taste just like Eskimo Pies!

Publix grocery stores make their own sugar free ice cream bars that have 10 net carbs. They are big though and really cheap! I think they actually taste better than regular chocolate covered ice cream bars. Also, check out Healthy Choice sf ice cream. Some of the flavors are only 9 net carbs.

The Blue Bunny ones are AWESOME!!! Even my 5 year old daughter loves them I have found them at Super Wal-Mart, but no luck at Publix. They are really good & best of all no nutrasweet.

Cool Blue Bunny

I sent Publix corporate an email asking them to get Blue Bunny! They also have ice cream cones that are INCREDIBLE. They are 19 carbs, but what a great treat once in awhile! Some of the Ingles markets also carry Blue Bunny.

I was disappointed in the Atkins Ice cream, tried the chocolate last night... I guess I should have tried the vanilla, I have found that chocolate is my least favorite flavor in the low carb shakes as well. (from a former chocoholic that is a shock).

Maybe (after there is room in my freezer) I will try some of these others....

Hmmm, I can't find that blue bunny brand anywhere. We don't have Publix here, and I can't find it at any of the grocery stores I have been too... lame
