Hello everyone,

Although I am pretty new here, I have made a couple of posts but realized I haven't introduced myself so here I am.
I heard of this online community through a friend and decided to give it a try. I am trying to get more in shape and from all the information about health, fitness and dieting I am under the understanding that I shouldn't be consuming that many carbs.
I also observed that I feel pretty bad after a meal with a lot of carbs.

Anyways, here I am, hopefully I will have a lot to learn from you and share my progress along the way.

Too many carbs is different for different people.

For me 20 net carbs per day is the limit. My entire family, parents and siblings are +300 pounds, we are cursed with slow metabolisms.

That is except for me. I finally have a BMI index of normal. I found that more than 20/day means I gain.

Others can tolerate more.

What is your number?

Pay attention to what you eat, log how many net carbs (carbs minus fiber, minus sugar alcohols) you are eating, and reduce it until you lose weight. Then keep it there until you are at your target weight. After that you can add more until is starts to make you gain.

I miss a lot of foods I used to eat, but without good health, nothing else matters.

Good luck, there are a lot of people here eager to help you with your journey. I do hope you find out exactly what is healthy for you.
