Default stuffed mushrooms

My wife makes these Mushrooms stuffed with sausage, cream cheese, and onion then baked for about 20 minutes I think. Even the kids like them and they won't normally eat mushrooms. More of an appetizer than a snack or quick meal all though we pig out on them so often it's a meal.

One of my favs especially when bbqing. I like to use crushed pork rinds *for crunchiness, bacon bits or broken shrimp, shredded cheese and a little mayo [Helmans with olive oil] and broil just till the cheese melts I could make that a meal in itself.

Mmmmm bacon bits and cheese. Not too sure about the shrimp tho. A little cheddar instead of the cream cheese I might try. My wife's not a big experimenting cook. Might try a whole variety next time.

I used to make mushrooms stuffed with sausage and bread crumbs. Lose the bread crumbs and add a bit of chopped parsley and finely chopped onion, and several of them would make a meal. A take to work lunch, even! I haven't made th;em in years. They used to be my stock appetizer. The other one was the mushroom stems sauteed in butter with chopped onions and mixed with cream cheese and a little sherry.

Default I love these too

I've never used onion in mine at all. I just use the sausage and cream cheese. That would drop a couple of carbs out of it. I like to use spicy sausage in mine.

I also love to stuff mushrooms with Borsin Cheese. It's Expensive in the grocery store but at Costco, Sam's or Trader Joe's you can get it for less than half the price. Borsin will be about 1 carb per Tbs which can fill the mushroom nicely.

I've also had cream cheese with dill and other spices as the stuffing. I love all the combos of stuffed mushrooms! These are one of my very favorite things to eat.

Here is another one to add to my list. I LOVE stuffed mushrooms. Maybe you could saute them in a little garlic butter until the cheese melts - yummy!
