DIY lowcarb protein shake
I like drinking meal-replacement shakes but really hate how expensive and frankenfoodish they can be. Plus, they often taste like chemicals and metal.
I love heavy cream but wanted to add some protein to help digest it - but instead of finding an expensive powder, I remembered that pre-packaged, pasturized liquid eggs can be consumed without cooking. And so I ended up with this:
DIY lowcarb protein shake
4 tablespoons heavy cream
4 tablespoons liquid egg product
stir together and add water if too thick, add sweetener if desired
And that's it. It is smooth and thick and doesn't really need added sweetner. It is not "eggy" and it does not taste like eggnog, but it could if you wanted to add more egg, sweetener, and nutmeg. It would probably make a kickass latte if you add some coffee!

Carbs: 3 (if unsweetened)
Protein: 6
Cost: about 70 cents per serving
