Default Brain and lung cancer

Hi all,

It's been a long time since I've been on this forum. Just recently, my mom was diagnosed with brain and lung cancer. We're still waiting on the results from the lung biopsy, but it's most likely melanoma that metastasized from her eye from 13 years ago.

I am aware of Dr. Seyfried and D'agostino have done a lot of googling on those two.

I'm just wondering... does anyone have info on a ketogenic therapeutic approach for cancer treatment? Has anyone had or had someone they know do keto while having some form of cancer?

Any info/experiences would be much appreciated.

~Brigitta

Brigetta,
I am very sorry to hear of your mother's diagnosis. There have been a number of threads about Seyfried's book on this forum; this one is active now.

From personal experience I know that Internet research can be a scary place when facing a diagnosis of cancer, there are times for everyone's mental health you need to back away from the computer. But when you want more info, please PM me your email. I have a document started from my bookmarks with books, podcasts, nutrition services, lectures, websites etc about the Metabolic theory of Cancer. Not complete by any means, but the sources I have found of interest over a few years. Dr Colin Champ is a current favorite for being a practicing radiation oncologist and clear, concise writer, he has been posting frequently of late.

There are a few nutritionists who already provide a service to help Cancer patients implementing Keto and two good books on the practical aspects of using a Ketogenic diet to Fight Cancer.

Book and provides consultation services: http://www.dietarytherapies.com

My brother has been treating his Multiple Myeloma with a meat only diet for 7 years with no other conventional treatment or drugs. He's been in remission for 7 years.

There is a facebook forum called "Zeroing in on Health" where people who eat only meat or animal based products meet for discussion and some of them are openly using that diet to try and treat their cancer, one of which has brain cancer.

It's worth checking out their page and reading all they have to say about their way of eating and cancer.

Katie, that is a very interesting group. Does your brother know about this blogger, Amber Wilcox. http://www.empiri.ca/p/eat-meat-not...mostly-fat.html She too has been meat only for years. Her other website with her husband, Ketogenic Diet for Health is a very helpful.

Yes Janet, we are familiar with Amber. She has a great site also worth looking into and she posts regularly on the Zeroing in on Health site.
