Smile Update since the summer

Hi everyone!

Eariler I posted a message telling all of you about my weight loss this summer. At the tail end of the thread, I included an update and my weight at 204.5. I thought I'd let everybody know how things are going now. As I expected, coming back home presented new challenges to me as I tried to continue my dieting habits. However, I'm very happy to say that I have settled into my dietitic nitch, so to say. I've finally come to accept my dieting as a part of everyday life. I no longer become weak and vulnerable at the sight of some rich desert. It's just a given that I don't eat things like that. There are no regrets about it. What I love about the way I feel now is that I have control. Never before have I felt that I really can influence my body with what I eat. Right now, as the new year begins, I weigh 203. Sure, I would like to lose about 10 more pounds. However, I can honestly say that I feel good about myself. Once you've experienced that, you get a better understanding of where the dieting should fit in as a priority. Needless to say, I'm not as strict on myself as I used to be. Fortunately, whenever I check the scale, it hasn't come back to haunt me. It's all about finding that sustainable balance. For me, the new year brings lots of challenges. I've got the second semester of my senior year in high school to look forward to before heading off to college. Hopefully, I can gradually continue to lose some weight. I still haven't had that thrill of seeing 1-9-9 on the scale. That is definitely motivation for me to continue.

Best Wishes!
Charlie

Right on Charlie!

I think that's one of the hardest things to do, change your lifestyle and stick with a new way of eating. But, you did it! And trust me, when you get to college, you'll have to do it again... But, I know you'll be able to do it then, too.

to you!
