Another dental thread from several months ago (started, I think, by Ms Arielle) led to the information about Viadent & bloodroot. I looked into it, and ordered some bloodroot powder from a herb supplier I trust. 5 months ago my dental hygienist told me that if I couldn't get the plaque etc under control I might need to be referred to a periodontist. My teeth were fine, but my gums were not. Very soon after I started using baking soda to brush with, and a much softer brush, and then a sprinkle of bloodroot powder on the brush at every brushing. My theory was brushing more often, and less vigorously. 3 weeks ago I had another cleaning; the easiest cleaning I have had in years. The hygienist was astounded at the improvement; very little bleeding, very little plaque (and in the past I was told that I had a tendency to make a lot of plaque). Interestingly, I was away from home for awhile during this time, and rather than take baking soda & bloodroot powder with me I just took what had been my regular toothpaste. I felt, for the week I was away, that my teeth were not properly clean, and was so glad to get back to my (now regular) cleaning regimen. I'm a believer; this stuff works!
