Binki, that mix may make perfect ice cream but in my case a cup of polyD plus those 3 S/A's in a single batch of ice cream would make me unfit for human company for at least 2 days. I personally prefer a little less perfect and a lot less gas. YMMV

Kevin, have you tried acclimating yourself to polyd by having a tiny bit each day? I find this approach makes a world of difference.

As any bean lover will tell you, the best way to overcome the gassiness of beans is to eat them more frequently. Polyd is no different.

Your loss, Kevin... more for me! Mwahahahaha!

(got a batch of premium vanilla-bean vanilla chilling right now, root beers at the ready...and no rude side effects whatsoever)

Well, I have to agree with Kevin on this one!!

Unfortunately there are some people who cannot tolerate maltitol in any amount and only small amounts of PolyD without suffering rom GI upset, blood sugar spikes or cravings.

I am one of those people. Even in the most miniscule amount. Plus, I find that maltitol spikes my blood sugar and will illicit cravings. I for one stay away from maltitol with a 10 foot pole. But hey, if it floats your boat, more power to ya!

Lisa

It has nothing to do with my loss Binki. It's my preference. You just seem to want to rub it in that it doesn't effect you. That doesn't make you better, just a little bit more rude for trying to rub it in.

Scott, I would imagine I have eaten something with polyD in it every day for the last 6 month. If i haven't acclimated to it by now I don't think its going to happen. My choice is to limit how much I take in, and in this case 1 cup in a batch of ice cream is way too much.

Whatever. You eat your ice cream, I'll eat mine. If it's rude to say how good it is, so be it.

I see nothing in this post saying anything about how good anything is.

I also didnt see anybody forcing anything out of you or even asking you as you initially claimed.

That was "humor."

I don't understand why you're getting so bent out of shape about some ice cream you can't eat. So other people can, and do, eat the stuff, people you'll probably never meet, eating ice cream you'll probably never taste. How does that affect your life?

An awful lot of people can't tolerate cauliflower and green beans. Was it "rude" for you to post a recipe using those ingredients? Is it "rubbing it in" if someone makes it and says they enjoy the result?

I see, your idea of humor is to make fun of others because they don't agree that your ice cream is perfect.

Did you see me laughing at anybody .....I think not. If somebody states they can't tolerate something I make....who am I to make fun of them.

Hey guys, let's get back to actual joy of ice cream...

I finally got a chance to dig out the pics of the "black & white" bowl of ice cream (the thick Lindt Chocolate and Vanilla Bean duo). Hadda resize 'em first (keep forgetting about the digi cam sizing thing).

They were very tasty, too.

...and Kevin, this one's for you (I tried out your GS Mint Thins recipe, tweaked back to Vanilla, and filled with my little tiny portioner, scoops of Vanilla Bean) -- whatcha think, a good use for your recipe?
