Yeah I guess we have to research research every damn thing! I’ve had a stuffy nose for well over 50 years now! (I recall my mom taking me to an ENT about it when I was 12 years old. He wanted to operate on my sinuses which we declined to do.

It’s not a total block. As I sit here and type I’m breathing through my nose, but every 4-5 breaths or so I need a good mouth breath to get in enough air. Interesting reading about iodine, though I also have Hashimotos and years back read that taking iodine was bad for this condition so I never did, though admit I hadn’t revisited this lately. Will have to investigate xclear also. I never allow xylitol in the house since it’s so deadly for dogs, and EATING anything containing xylitol affects me like someone shredding chefs knives through my gut, but nasal might be different 😉

Every medication has some kind of side effects. (DD2 worked in a pharmaceutical testing lab for the first couple of years after college - what the drug does FOR you is the desired side effect, but there are always undesirable side effects)

If they don't tell you what they are when they prescribe the medication, either ask the pharmacist (they actually know more than your dr does about medication side effects and interactions anyway), or google. OTC packages are supposed to list at least the most common side effects, and if it's a prescription only drug, then there should be a list of side effects printed out and attached to your prescription - but if there's not, google is your friend.

I had a stuffy nose for 50 years until I gave up dairy proteins (I can handle ghee & up to 2T of butter per day).
