Default question about CAD and blood sugar...

I started LC with Atkins 3 weeks ago at my doctor's suggestion because my A1C was 5.9: borderline for diabetes. I've lost about 8 pounds, but hate the restrictions on carbs at dinner. My family is eating things like sandwiches and I am eating cold cuts and veggies... boring!

I need to lose weight and hopefully that will contribute to lowering my blood sugar, but I don't want to do CAD if it will adversely effect my levels.

Can anyone give me some advice here? I know very little about CAD except that you can have carbs once per day (?) with a balanced meal... I heard you can even incorporate dessert if you wanted to...

CAD controls insulin. There have been diabetics that have reacted positively to CAD: 5 people greatly reducing or going off insulin, improved readings, reversal of symptoms.

However, everyone's body is different; some people have reacted to CAD with hypoglycemic episodes.

I would say give it a trial and monitor your bs more frequently.

I'd recommend you read at least CALP- I think it stresses balance better than CAD.
