GB, we've come a long way when our worst cheats are meats and vegetables.

MOMD day 24.

MINOR CHEAT DECLARATION: DH and I are going to get Swiss Chalet sometime this week. It's a popular chicken/rib chain here in Canada. They do an awesome takeout/delivery deal for a family pack: a whole chicken and 4 sides, several of which are LC-friendly. Great deal money-wise, because for the price of what you'd spend on 2 individual meals at a restaurant, we basically each get 2 full meals out of it, plus I turn the carcass into broth. Over the holidays, they do the "Festive Special" that also comes with cranberry sauce, stuffing and Lindor chocolates. I can't eat the stuffing, but I'll have a bit of cranberry sauce and I'll bogart all of the dark 70% chocolates.

No kidding Kristine. What’s kind of funny is when I read vegetable in your post above, I had to think about what vegetable I cheated with. Because to me potatoes are not a vegetable. Which is absolutely a wonderful thought process considering 13 years ago I considered a potato a vegetable.

That does sound like an awesome meal deal!

I’m calling today MOMD # 2. I haven’t been hungry all day. So I have barely eaten anything. I might still fix some bacon and eggs if I get hungry tonight.

You're right, they should be labelled a starch and not a vegetable... though I think root veggies like 'taters, carrots, rutabaga, turnips, etc are a little better than the grains like rice, wheat, oats, etc. I can handle the former but not the latter.

MOMD day 26 for me.

True those are better than grains, etc.

MOMD#3 for yesterday. I have to say, while I was not hungry on Sunday, yesterday I was ravenous! Which was a little bit problematic because I was working at the office instead of at home. And the deli in the building was closed so I did not have my normal eggs, bacon, avocado, and cheese for my in-office breakfast. Luckily, I made egg muffins Sunday night - which turned out more as hard boiled eggs with ham and cheese on top. 5 of those (2 for brunch and 3 for lunch) did not sate my hunger so I ended up actually eating three meals yesterday. I'm also in the office today so I made up some chicken salad. Hopefully it's enough to get me through to 5 p.m.

Congrats on Day 26 Kristine!

MOMD #4 for yesterday. Interestingly, my hunger is fluctuating from day to day. So I am eating as hungry. Trying not to eat "just because."

Did I mention that I made egg muffins with ham and cheese? They really came out like HB eggs with ham and cheese on top - I did not whisk the eggs first! LOL Oh, and the yolks were ... gray on the outside.

Day 29 for me. Happy New Year!

Haha, GB, I hope they're still tasty. I did sort of the opposite screw-up on egg muffins a while back. I had a brand of turkey sausage and I didn't like the casings. They were made of gelatin or something... it was slippery and weird. So I decided that since they were so lean, and they tend to be dry, I would just take the meat out of the casings and mix everything together. Well, I should have browned the meat first, because they came out like... eggy meatloaf? They taste good, but the texture is really weird. Lesson learned. I still have a couple in the freezer. I have to be pretty hungry and not motivated to cook to eat them. Haha.

I've noticed the same thing re: hunger. I just roll with it. Some days, I won't even crack 1000 calories, and another day I'll eat like a horse.

MOMD 8! Not very hungry today. I think my daily schedule is all messed up. I finally got hungry around 9 o’clock tonight. Which likely means that I will not be hungry until late tomorrow.

LOL Kristine. I’ve made some things that would get eaten as a last resort. LOL These egg muffins were okay. Texture is off.

MOMD #9. Was not hungry until four-ish. Cooked up some Maria Emmerichs stuffed mushroom casserole. And also a New York strip steak. I did not finish the steak. So I guess I have my meal for tomorrow. And I have several servings of the mushroom casserole left.

MOMD #10.

I finished off the stuffed mushroom casserole today. And I don’t know if there’s any correlation but I had some serious digestive upset. Might as well not of eaten today. For all the sustenance I’ve kept in.

Hope you're feeling better. (But I'll have to look up that recipe; I like stuffed mushrooms.)

MOMD day 32.
