Default Are there any Ontario Canada cuties out there?

Alberta cuties sound like there having fun. Anyone out there in Ontario I would like to know alittle bit about you. I will start I live on the Bruce Peninsula it is beautiful here in the summer. Lots to do but in the winter it is a little remote. Looking forward to going away for the winter. Started LC again on Oct 2nd so far so good. A little disappointed yesterday morning as I did not lose anything last week. Down half pound this morn though. Yesterday I wanted something sweet but did not give in. I even stop losing when I add stevia in my coffee. I thought about making peanut butter cookies but knew I would want 6 or 7 and could not as they are 3-4 carbs each. Good luck losing this week everyone.

Hey-- I am in Southern Ontario. What do the Alberta "cuties" do? Just a bonding experience??

Have you ever tried the Atkins bars for those sugar cravings? I love them! I have also tried the Carb Slim bites that are made with erytherol (sp?) which is a sugar alcohol that is supposed to be the best one (Maltitol is the devil!)

Hello Joy

I never started excersing until my second week. Before that I just never had any energy to. Now I have all kinds of energy I have been doing the treadmill 3 times a week and the bowflex three times a week. The Niagara region is very nice been lots of times. PB girl I have tried the atkins bars the last time I tried Atkins and my sugar cravings never stopped. For me I am to sensitive to anything sweet I just stopped losing for a week or two. I am going to try to be good until I reach my goal. Then have a treat once a week I hope. Good intentions lets see if I can really make it though. Where do you get the erytherol. I have not tried that it would be nice if I could find something that is sweet but not make me stop losing. Talk to you both soon I hope.

Your atkins buddy

Hi, I'm from the Ottawa area. I was thinking about making peanut butter cookies last week too, but decided against it for the same reason. Plus, I've finally gotten to where I don't have mad cravings when staring something sweet in the face and I don't want to mess it up.

The Grey-Bruce area is beautiful, my mother lived in Owen Sound so I was up there every year.

I am from Hamilton. I don't exercise other than to chase my two kids (3 and 2) around our house and yard. And I am also Tringirl's sister-in-law.

Where do you buy Walden Products in canada from? I heard someone speak of them yesterday that was from Ontario. Maybe if we get to know each other here we could meet and go to the casino on a weekend Niagara Falls or Windsor. That would be fun.

Hi Ladies,
I am from Toronto. I've been doing Atkins since Feb/05. Had a few mishaps along the way but I am almost at goal now. I too have a huge problem with sweet stuff but I use stevia and splenda in my coffee with no problems. It is funny, when I was a child I didn't like sweets. When I turned 20 I became addicted to everything sweet and just couldnt stop. I love having control over what I put in my mouth now and feel like a new person. Goood luck to you all.

Mel

Hey Guys

I'd love to be an Ontario Cutie. I used to be an Ontario Fattie but now I am making great strides to find the cutie that was hidden under all this fat. I started this lifestyle the 9th of May and I love it! At first it was a hard adjustment but now with the help of Linda's low carb recipies I don't miss anything. It is funny how your tastes change, my husband and I used to eat chocolate bars in bed every night ( it was a ritual ) he still eats them and it doesn't bother me in the least. I never thought I would get there as I was the biggest junk food junkie. My favourite place used to be the grocery store but now it is starting to be the clothing stores, my husband should be scared.

Let's keep this going. Good luck to everyone.

Cheers
Heather

Welcome vbrowne I tried Carbohydrate Addict Diet, South Beach, and Atkins as well as just cutting back. The cutting back worked for along time and I maintained a 100 pound weight loss in 1995 until 2003 then the pounds started creeping back as I quit working and we began traveling. It became harder and harder to resist all the food everyone else was having. Then last year we went to Mexico for Jan and Feb and when I came home I was 15 lbs heavier and feeling horrible. I went to the doctor and told him I thought I was addicted to carbs because I could not stop or control myself once I started eating them. I could before now I new something was wrong inside my body things I did before just was not working no matter how much I worked out or how little I ate. He did blood tests and told me I had fasting blood of 6.9. Sent me to a dietician. Of course we all know what she told me 5-6 small meals a day. Well I had done this before and would get totally out of control. Could not stop eating. I was getting so upset because I could not understand what was happening. Went to the doctors again with a list of symptoms I was having he told me they where happening because of high blood sugar. Now it was 7.4 I needed to really do something. I was really desperate now we went away for a week with 4 other couples ate out every meal.By the end of the week I was suffering from heartburn so bad I had gone to the kitchen and asked for baking soda. On the way home my girlfriend saw me doing this and was horrified. So with another restless night of not being able to sleep I decided when did I feel the best. The answer was when I had tried Atkins so I decided it was my last hope to get feeling well again. Started Atkins Oct 2 2005 and I have lost 22 lbs as of this morning. Just made an appointment with my slim Dr again to test my blood and see what difference this way of eating has done. I started testing my blood at home and my blood was in the normal range within two weeks. I was feeling wonderful all the symptoms I was experiencing went away. Have not had heartburn since I started atkins. sleeping threw the night instead of bed hopping, I could go on but I am sure you allready no with your LC programs. Anyway sorry I got so long winded but no one around here understands LC dieting or wants to so I am on my own. Thanks for listening. I am going to get to 150 and then see if I can make it to 140 and then see how things look. Donna

Hi Girls,
Wow this post is growing, so Happy to meet you all, happy to learn that we in Ontario are Low Carbing.
Would love to get together with you all in the near future.
I try to stay active but I know it is not enough and I should go to the gym, I don't like the cold outside and the cold affects my lungs, I have asthma.
This way of life is great, I also enjoying being in control of what I put into my mouth. Have been out of control for the past eight years.
I am hoping to be a better person, a better mate to DH, better Mom, and better friend. To ensure that I live long enough to see my young ones settled in their lives.
Freds Mom is my SIL and we started this together on October 12th 2005, we have been cheat free since then.
I am extreamely luckly to have her and we chat everyday and keep each other afloat. We love each other.
Also this forum keeps me forcus
Thank you all
Hope everyone has a good day today.
Warmest Regards,
Joy.

Special Greetings to Kristine from the Niagara Region, hope we can get to know each other and meet soon.
Joy.

Hey, I don't know if I am a 'cutie' but I live in London, Ontario. I was originally from Sarnia, Ontario but since moved here instead. Been on Atkins for about...3ish years, couldn't imagine it any other way!
