Default Wht isn't there a support group for Dr Davis Wheat Belly?

I am just wondering why there is no support group for the Dr Davis Wheat Belly diet plan?

Or is the avoidance of all grains - as suggested in all low carb plans - enough.

I have not signed up for his blog page information, so I don't know if he has anything new or unique to offer.

It's been a while since I read his stuff. My son had to go gluten free in 2010 and I did it with him, with good results. That was in terms of allergies and such, rather than weight.
I don't remember Dr. Davis's treatment of carbs in gluten alternatives but I know they are very often pretty high in carbs - even higher than wheat. I think you guessed it with the general rule of no grains at all in lc/keto.

I've read all of Davis' stuff because he goes into the history of how grains have changed and why they are so different than the originals. Knowing the reasons and basic principles work best for me, rather than meal plans, when deciding what to eat each day. Once I figured out that I cannot eat any grains, legumes or dairy proteins (allergies & intolerances), I don't follow one plan, but glean ideas from others. "LC Researc/Media", "Atkins diet" (Induction-levels of low carb vegs & berries) and "Dr. Bernstein & Diabetes" (w/Jason Fung & keto) are the main threads I follow for Wheat Bellyish eating, since most of the single-plan threads don't have much activity.

Yeah, I think a lot of us wind up combining plans. Good luck with it.

I love Dr. Davis. Even before Wheat Belly was written, his Cardiac Score blog was sharing his ideas. It was his work that led to me discovering my own gluten sensitivities.

But I don't think he, unlike other plans like Atkins or Protein Power, created guidance. He simply agreed low carb was a healthy way to eat, especially since it discouraged grains. And then he did his own book on why grains were so problematical.

I think it's that lack of a defined Food Plan which places him in a different category. And I like a build-your-own approach, but it's not for everyone.

Knowing glutin was a problem was one thing, but reading his book blew me away. It's a must read.

This last week two 1# bags if imported from Italy wheat was in the discount bin. Made pizza dough for homemade pizza.

And felt crappy, achey and bad night of poor breathing followed.

All wheat 🌾 apparently causes me problems, even an ancient strain.

I might have succumbed in an earlier period of my own experimentation
