Question

What store did you find the garlic butter in? A supermarket chain I hope.

Sounds interesting! Also thanks for reminding me, I haven't made Shepherd's Loaf in ages ... back to the kitchen, I'm drooling for a slice of it. Sooooo yummy!

Hugs,
Norma June

p.s. I saw the whoosh fairy float across my screen again today; wish she would stop at my house for a bit.

I find them at IGA, Choices and Superstore. They're probably everywhere but I never paid attention to them until recently.

Smile hi Norma June

It's made by Lactantia ... Wa'il is right, it's sold everywhere. I can find it at NoFrills here in Ontari-ari-ari-oh!

It's sold in 1/4 lb sticks, wrapped in green foil. It's made with natural butter, garlic, herbs and a little white wine. There's a "garlic spread" sold in plastic tubs. Poison!! made with hydrogenated oil.

Thanks guys, I'm going to look if it. I'm wondering now what other wonderful things can be done with this ... hmmmm?

Garlic butter on pork?
Garlic butter drizzled on pork rinds perhaps?
Garlic butter on Shepherd's Loaf and broiled ... definately!

The list is endless.

Thanks again for letting me know where to get it. And Doreen, you bet your sweet bippy that hydrogenated oil is POISON!

ciao,
NJ

I got the garlic butter and tonight I'm trying something different with it.
It's so nice out today that I decided to put a roast of pork on the barbecue on indirect heat. I put some white Swiss chard in aluminum foil along with the garlic butter. I'll let you know if it turns out okay.

I've got some lettuce & cherry tomatoes on stand-by in case it doesn't taste good but methinks it will as normally I par boil the Swiss chard then pan fry it in olive oil and garlic.

Oh and I diced up daikon and put it in aluminum foil along with butter, a dash of beef oxo, 1/4 of a small onion, 2 strips each of green & red pepper, 2 mushrooms and salt & pepper. I'll let you know how that turns out too.

The Swiss chard turned out good. It did need more garlic though. I found that doing it this way gave me larger leaves when cooked ... the frying or sauteeing seemed to reduce it to very small pieces.

The daikon was really good. Had some left over so I'll use it tomorrow for breakfast ... I'll cut up some bacon into pieces and fry it then add the daikon mixture for LC hashbrowns. Yummy!

Hi Sue,

The Whey protein is usually found in health store and available on line from low-carb sites (check our shopping section from the menu above). Psylium husks is usually sold at "natural" and bulk stores, the type that sells dry goods and nuts etc.

Thumbs up O.T. Hi, I'm BAAAAK !

Wa'il ... I don't know what happened ... I was going through some old digests that were sent to me in an effort to clear out my in-basket when I clicked on one of them and voila, here I am.

It wouldn't work before ... I'm heading off to other forums to see if it works in any other ones.

Sorry for the post folks ... had a problem accessing the forums. I'm glad to be back.
