Default Eating Well with Canada's food guide

Greetings.

I was curious about the canadian government's position on nutrition so I had a look at its web site.

Canadian food guide

What really struck me is how many Servings per Day of Grain Products that I should be eating to be healthy (according to them).

I should be eating 8 servings of Grain Products servings every day!

Here is list of 1 serving amount:

***********************

Grain Products

Bread
1 slice (35 g)

Bagel
½ bagel (45 g)

Flat breads
½ pita or ½ tortilla (35 g)

Cooked rice, bulgur or quinoa
125 mL (½ cup)

Cereal
Cold: 30 g
Hot: 175 mL (¾ cup)

Cooked pasta or couscous 125 mL (½ cup)

***********************

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That means I should be eating every day, for example:

2 slices of bread
3/4 cup of oatmeal
1/2 cup of rice
1 bagel
1/2 cup of pasta
1 pita bread

I should eat this every day to be healthy???

WTF?

I'll tell you wft; wtf is that we can no longer trust our government and its agencies. The UN, World Health Organization, FDA, USDA, ... are all corrupted by the Big Sugar, Big Pharma, Big __add others here___ including them $#%%& that set the New World Order.

Call me a conspiracy theorist? You bet! We are living in a world that conspires to make us fat, sick, brainwashed, perfect slave bee workers and die.

As if I'm going to eat 8 servings per day of bread!!! ppffffffff

I'm proud to be living the low-carb lifestyle.

Put that in the corrupt government pipe and smoke it!

i agree RDBois!

to be honest, i think the world is coming to an end :P corporations that only care about money. THEY are trying to tell US what we should be eating. (their products) and while the general population buys into it, they are unknowlingly/knowingly damaging themselves. corporations to not care about the planet and sustainability. corporations control farming now. where would the health and stroke foundation and canadian diabetes be without all the sick people? the canadian government was and possibly still is trying to BAN health supplements. i believe this included multivitamins/health supplements. governments try to regulate everything, tell us what they think is best, leaving the public without choices.

How to eat well with Canada's Food Guide:

Take a paper copy of the food guide.
Use it as a place mat while you eat your grass-fed beef fried in butter with a side of asparagus.
Maybe use it as a napkin to wipe your greasy mouth.
Can also use as T.P. to wipe your bum once meal is fully digested.

That's how I'd use it!
