Default Sheila's Exercise Log

I just discovered this section! I've been tracking my exercise in a text file on my phone...

Bike riding is my favorite, riding a heavy, inefficient, stable, much-loved mountain/cruiser hybrid with 2" tires. I'm not winning any races on this thing!

So far this week:

05/23: 16.16 miles in 89 minutes, 10.89 mph

05/25: 7.07 miles in 40 min, 10.65 mph
8.68 mi in 50 min, 10.46 mph

05/27: 14.91 mi in 84 min, 10.65 mph

Default 05/28/15

26.88 miles in 160 minutes, 10.08 mph

This is a personal best distance, and I knew my average rate of speed would be weak. At 18 miles, I'd planned to refill my water bottle at a park. The park didn't have a water fountain, so I saved the last couple sips for the next few miles until I got back to civilization and could buy water. I drank a full liter right away, then fought the urge to throw it up most of the way home.

I've done 20+ mile rides before LC, and was always weak and ravenous at the end. I finished strong (the nausea had passed by then), and have been sitting in the air conditioning for over half an hour without food yet. Pretty cool!

I'll be adding a second water bottle holder to the bike.

Walking 20 min yesterday
Today, 4.3 mile ride. I have a shoulder injury and found a couple miles in that riding really aggravates it.

Congratulations! You're still going strong.

Yes, it took me a while to realize we have gym logs, too. I have a beach cruiser, but, honestly at my age, I'm kinda afraid to ride. I don't want to risk a fall, so keeping both feet on the ground is best for me.

While I realize there are those who believe that exercise is not that important, I want my legs to stay strong, and I want to be able to run if I have to. You don't realize that would be important until.........later.

I'll stop back by every once in a while to cheer you on. You can do it!
