Hmmm, I'll have to make that sometime when I get the cultures for it! Haven't made cheeses in the Swiss family yet...

Since I have both in the house now, I prefer the Smjor to the Kerrygold, but it's close.

I thought of this thread yesterday as I gave my 10 yo a little piece of nice cold butter out of the fridge and said "Here, try this!"

She looked at me like I was crazy but she gobbled it up and she asked me this morning if she could have more.

BTW, my kids have a BIG BIG spoonful of PB at least once a day, sometimes 2 or 3. DH's family tries to get them to at least have it on toast or crackers or something but my munchkins won't stand for it and tell them "Why would I put something not healthy with something that is so good for me?"

I didn't care for it too much either. Now unsalted butter with raw honey, that is pure heaven

I ate room temp butter yesterday. I thought I might vomit. It just is not the same as a nice cold piece of butter from the fridge!

Oh, oh. I shouldn't have showed her that. Now the other two have picked up on it and all my butter seems to mysteriously vanish into thin air.

Does anyone eat multiple tubs or sticks of butter per day?

Nope. I think we go through a 1/2 to a pound of butter about every two weeks. (Well, it will probably be more than that now since all three of my monsters are snacking on it.) Most of the time I use coconut oil for cooking with unless I want a buttery taste. (I even put coconut oil carb crap like Kraft Dinner when DH brings it home. I volunteer to make it so I can at least add some healthier stuff to the garbage.)

Have you been able to cut back or do you still find yourself craving butter and eating it anyway?

Default I made butter....thanks to you all!

So I read through this whole thread over a few days and just like others on here I gave a cold curl of butter a try. YUMMY!!!!

Also tonight I made sweet cream butter. It was so easy and so quick! I just used my beaters. Separated the buttermilk and washed the butter. Now I even have it on my counter in a makeshift butterbell! I learn so much here!

Now I'm looking into a jersey cow. We've got the space and the hay, why not hey?
