Okay... I'm going to start planning to have a VERY paleo UDDD week.... ummm... PUDDD? With the added exclusion of eggs. I've been getting very sore in my body and I think it is due to the dairy/whey that has crept in with using shakes.

I also want to see if possibly eggs cause me to stall. I sure eat a ton of them.

Here's my PUDDDing plan:

Down days
===============================================
-Chicken breast or shrimp
-Asian soup or curry? Hmmm... curry seems possible if I use lower fat coconut milk.
-Chicken or shrimp stirfry with lots of veggies and mushrooms with shiritaki or kelp noodles.
*Shakes are out... unless I can find some paleo source of protein other than egg or dairy... powdered meat?

Black coffee, tea, water
================================================

Up days
Gyros meat (I have tons of ground lamb to use up)
Rib eye steak
Rosemary chicken
A piece of fruit or two?
Almonds
Artichokes drenched in ghee... from my garden!
My homemade "Lara bars"
Coconut milk panna cotta

David Mendosa's Health Central column this week has an article on gummy owls, which are made from glucomannan fiber. See:

Gummy worms are super easy to make. Just look up a recipe for that and add some glucomannan flour to them, I would think. Substitute for the sugar, of course.

Down, diddy down... down, down, down, down...
It's a she-bop sort of song that plays in my head every other day, like today!

I made a big, fat shake to take to work and drink from whenever I'm hungry. Coconut milk, cocoa powder, raw egg, whey powder, vanilla syrup, truvia. It is teh yum.

I might try to skip the stir fry with shiritaki and see if that helps the weight loss, just drink more shake.

Anyway, I do notice the down days are getting easier.

Welcome to our JUDDD group, Cactus Rose. We're all pretty new at this, but seem to be starting out well. I'm on an UP day today. Had an egg/bacon wrap for breakie; a BBQ pork wrap with shawarma mayo and lettuce for lunch; planning on making some hash with leftover roast beef, radishes and onion for dinner with something green on the side.

Nancy, what about those little jars of chicken or beef baby food? (Just Kidding.) Seriously, what about hemp protein powder? You can also use gelatin to get some protein in shakes (and some thickening too). This video gave me some ideas: Gelatin for Smoothies or Pudding

Hey Barb! It's good to see you here. Looks like you are doing amazingly well!

I've been goofing up the last few days, but am recommitted as of today. I think I'm going to stick with low fat meat/poultry/fish on my DDs, like I did for a while on my hcg stint. It's the most satisfying for me.

I'm a little frightened of using vegetable proteins because every time I do they taste FOUL! Bleh. Last one I tried was pea protein... oh, god... hideous!

I think maybe just eating some chicken or shrimp might be the best thing. Or possibly a low protein shake with glucomannan. We shall see!

Are there any threads here that have QUICK ideas for DD's? I know Blue has some, and I have found some on the LC Friends site, but always looking for new ideas and links.

Whoa! I think I'm going to switch to Kelp Noodles over shiritaki... they're so much more filling! I had a bag of kelp noodles (18 calories for the entire bag) and I'm stuffed to the gills.

That was awesome!

The only place I have found a thread on DD meal ideas was at lc friends. I have found it easier for me to stay with pretty much the same things. My down days are M,W,F and I am at work most of the day so on those days I have 2 poached eggs and two slices lite toast. Lunch is salad of lettuce and mushrooms with no calorie dressing and either low cal soup or sliced smoked turkey with Laughing Cow cheese spread on top. My go to dinner is Morning Star Crumbles and some spices and veggies mixed with egg whites from a carton.

I haven't been able to find the kelp noodles anywhere around here. Maybe when I get down to Austin's Whole Foods next I'll see if they have them. But I avoid Austin traffic like the plague.
