Default Question about measurements

I think I may be measuring my hips wrong...am I supposed to measure them at the first bones that are underneath the waist? (like 5 inches down or so) or at the widest part down farther? My ratio doenst seem right, waist 29.5 and hips 36, too little of a difference, so I think I am doing something wrong

Help!

~Amy

I have always heard that you measure your hips at their widest part. I always measure right at the top of the pubic hair, which on me is close to the widest part and I know I am always measuring at the same place.

Measure where ever you want, Amy; just be sure to measure the same place every time. What is relevant is the change over time, not the actual number

Smile hi Amy

I measure my hips at 2 different places ... 6" below my waist, and 9" below my waist, which for me is the widest point. Generally, the recommendation is that you should measure NOT at the widest point looking front-on ... but rather, at the largest point of your buttocks, from the side view.
