Wrong, I will reply!

The problem with estimate of energy burned during any activity is that it only measures the duration of the activity.

For example, a 20 minute walk doesn't show a lot of calories burned. However, they neglect to tell you that the effects of the exercise can continue for hours afterwards. Even if your heart is rested 20 minutes after the activity, the metabolic effect continues on for up to 13 hours.

Food for thought.

That is true. I even like the sound of that better than fitday saying I only burned like 20 calories walking. I highly doubt the acuracy on that thing anyways.

haha thats true too!

That part of fitday is so stupid though! Like who really is going to sit there counting out how many minutes they spent "changing" "sitting on toilet" "hugging" lol its dumb. I get it if they're trying to show us that we burn calories all day long, no matter what we do.. But I would think all that stuff would go under basal or lifestyle, not activities.

Like who really is going to sit there counting out how many minutes they spent "changing" "sitting on toilet" "hugging" <---- people who don't get off their butts and exercise and are trying to tally up as many calories burnt as they can take the time to put that in fitday

Agonycat ... you made me think of something. Now that I can fit into old favourites (mostly jeans ) ... it may take a little longer to try on different combos of tops and pants. This does expend a fair bit of energy .. especially for someone with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.

However, it's NOTHING compared to my previous struggles trying to pull a pair of too-tight jeans over my chubby thighs and ample bum. The energy required to yank and tug ... then get down on the bed to lie flat so's I could pull up the zipper, then the heave-ho rocking motion to get myself back upright uggghhh!! It burned a LOT o' calories trying to suck in all the flab bulging over the waisband .. and incredible leg strength to force the strained denim fibers into a back and forth walking motion, that squeaked with each step. Forget trying to sit down , couldn't be done; best I could manage was a slightly bent shape that leaned on chairs. Futons and sofas were off-limits, since I knew I'd never get up again without mechanical assistance.

Who says fat people don't get any exercise?

Well, will I burn more if it is done first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, and while taking a thermogenic?

And what about the "after-burn" effect? LOL.

Can you imagine turning to hubby and saying, "No, keep going, I need at least 20 minutes according to the site and every day!".

Funny post!
