The sickest part is that is not what the science says NOW. Yet, the relentless marketing makes them think they know how to eat healthy.
The ruthless elimination of dietary fat in the 80s, an entirely market-led "revolution," only made a bad situation worse. All those snackwells were dust that created sugar lows and incredible hunger. That alone can create a sugar addiction because the lack of fat makes ME hungry. "Eat more! Only the fat matters."
I struggled with giving up vegetables, which I never liked, but it still got in my way. The relentless vegetable pushing got even me, with that "vague feeling" that I have to eat them.
Turns out, that wasn't true for me in a big way, but the science of bioavailability, and anti-nutrients, is settled science now.
Fortunately, we have a pushback mechanism with more and more realizing carbs are not a required nutrient. Why can't some make up their own minds? I'm starting to think they stunted their thinking abilities by letting corporations do everything for them.
They are not our friends.
