Default Pre Boiled Eggs at Costco...

Costco is now selling preboiled eggs. They come in a box of 3 sealed bags with 12 eggs in each bag. This is really handy for a quick protien snack... Under $7, with a shelf life of over a month.

Wow, what a cool idea for those of us who are useless at boiling eggs! Which Costco has them?

Let me get this straight ... You get 3 dozen eggs for 7 bucks?

That's cheaper than regular eggs.

I've seen the pre-boiled eggs at Loblaws/Superstore .. by Burnbrae (Ontario). These came in a pkg of 6, for around $2.99 per pkg (I didn't buy them, only examined the package in-store). I thought it was a great idea, not just for convenient lunches or snacks, but also in the hot, hot summer .. no need to heat up the kitchen to boil eggs .

Here's more info. from the Burnbrae website .. http://www.burnbraefarms.com/consum...boiled_eggs.htm

Three dozen boiled eggs, with a shelf-life of one month ... hmmmm, you'd want to have a big family or else plan to eat boiled eggs every single day!! I imagine the one-month shelf life is for the unopened package; I'm sure they'd only keep for a few days once opened. Three dozen *would* be perfect for making devilled eggs or egg salad for a crowd or a buffet table .

Are they good quality eggs? I'm a bit of a stickler for avoiding battery chicken eggs and standard chicken feed (may have ground up cow and other meat byproducts) eggs...

I only buy veggie-fed (clearly marked) on the package these days, and when I can, organic.

An affordable good egg would be, for example (out here in the West, in grocery stores, for sure):
  • Born 3 (everywhere)
  • Canadian Harvest (harder to find, Born 3 browns)
  • Nature's Best (also Burnbrae, I believe, at Superstore)

The eggs are from Burnbrae Farms.

The eggs are pre boiled and peeled.

They taste great.. and cost $6.58 per box of 3 dozen.

I picked them at a Costco in the GTA (Hwy 7 and Woodbine).

Thanks Callahan,
I'll look for them this week. The link looks great and the are Omega3 eggs to boot, so I'm still amazed at the price.
