High Fat works for some, takes them right to goal. But Low Fat, Moderate carbs (the P:E Diet) is working well for others who have stalled in their weight loss journey, or who suffered health issues on "keto". New post from Ken Armstrong who posted on various low carb/keto websites in previous years, he started LC April 2011.

New before/after photos from ~KillorglinKen (Ken Armstrong).
If you have a Twitter account, photos there, 450 pounds to 225 pounds:

"“Dream big… You might shock & surprise yourself.”
I was hardcore #keto. I bought ~tednaiman’s PE Diet book and I didn’t get it. Once I got sick with my gallbladderinfection, I had to reduce fat and added fibre to compensate. I kept it #lowcarb It made a massive difference and I lost over 100lbs in 10 months. (240 lost in total)"

I'm definitely not at Keto ratios.

I also lost the gallbladder back while I was still eating very high carb, a few years before I went LC.

I'm not sure why I'm able to eat higher fat (even though not nearly keto high), but I recall reading many years ago that after gall bladder removal, you can actually develop a pouch along the bile duct that stores extra bile, making it easier to digest higher fats. Probably not enough to go truly keto though.

Whatever happened to make it possible for me to eat higher fat after gall bladder surgery, I'm pleased that I'm able to eat as much fat as I do because a relatively high fat with higher protein LC diet does seem to be the only thing that controls my appetite.

But yeah, everyone is different in what works best for them.
