Hi Girls! Man this is just what I needed. I've belonged to this forum for a long time and I think this is the first time I really joined a group of buddies. Thanks for welcoming me. I think I may be the only Canadian, but I think one of the girls is from Vancouver. We should make a pact to go to the Meet and Greet in Las Vegas for Oct. 2006. That could be our goal and then we can just party it up in Vegas together. I guess I'm joining in a little late so perhaps you guys can say a blurb about yourselves so I can catch up with you all. I better say a bit about myself. I'm Lori. I'm 25 years old and I'm currently a Nursing student. I'm from Peterborough, ON (or 45 min. from Toronto). I'm also a liscenced hairstylist. I love dancing, snowboarding, reading, and knitting/crocheting. I live with my boyfriend of 8 yrs, and his name is Leelan. We have a dog/son named Maximus. I've been LCing on and off for the last two years. I'm back on induction and my weight hasn't budged. I'm going to blame TOM for it and see if the scale drops after TOM goes away. I really want to get my weight down because my vacation pictures bother me. You can tell by my hips that I've put my weight back on since last year. Another reason that I want to get my weight down is because, as you all know, at our age we are invited to attend or be in many weddings, or go to Christenings, and soirees, and black tie events. So I just want to look great before all that happens, so I can be prepared to dazzle. Also, if i get my weight down before Christmas, I won't have to worry so much about my weight afterwards. So I plan to be here all the time, message me, leave me notes in my journal, and I will definitely do the same!

Here is a bit about me...

My name is Katie and I am 21, (almost 22!) I live in Indianapolis, Indiana with my husband, Dan, and our kitten named Lucy, but we call her Moo (we're strange!). I am currently a sophomore Business student and I cannot wait to graduate! I work in a call center on Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon. And then I go to school and clean my house and do whatever else on the rest of the days.

I love to hang out with my friends, watch some TV, and I have been experimenting alot lately with LC recipes. I love this forum...and like Lori, this is the first time I have felt like I am getting to know people! Plus, I just got brave enough to post a picture...it is not very good but I will post some more later.

I would LOVE LOVE to go to the Meat and Greet in 2006. That would be amazing. I have been wanting to go to Vegas anyways but this would be an even better thing to go to than just party and gamble! Is anyone here going already?

Hello Girls!
Katie-good job on 43 days cheat free! Holy cow, that's a long time!
My Name is Seanna (SEE-anna), and I live in Southern Oregon with my DH and my sister. We don't have any children at this time, but want to adopt evetntually. We DO have two dogs, Sadie and Champ. Champ just joined our household 3 weeks ago, and he's doing pretty well. Puppy training is always interesting. My interests include fitness, music, ice skating, wakeboarding, and traveling. I work part-time for a contractor, teach piano lessons, and do the books for my DH business. Weight has been a battle most of my life, and I'm here to conquer and take control of IT.

Hey girls,

Lori I am Canadian!! My name is Sarah and I am 23. I just graduated from university last year and I got my Bachelor of Commerce in International Business. Right now I am working at a funky jewellery store (Lori do you know Aritzia? Blue Ruby is jewellery store started by the same family and has the same vibe) as their Inventory Control Analyst....and yes its about as interesting as it sounds!! hahah. I am hoping to move to Europe in the Spring because I have heard that there are a lot of cool business-related jobs over there. My hobbies are watching hockey (Go Canucks!!) , travelling, wakeboarding, reading, shopping and partying in general (wow i sound like a bit of a ditz).

I have been low-carbing since April this year....I did a couple years ago one summer and lost a ton of weight but then I moved to Hong Kong in Sept and that is rice/noodle central so I fell off the wagon and then gained all the weight back. Its okay though, I learned my lesson about this not being a "diet" but a "way of life".

I don't have a husband, pet or anything like that to tell you guys about......I've never ever had a pet--thats kind of an interesting fact about myself.

Okay thats enough about me for now! Hey where can I find all the info about Meat & Great? I want to check it out!!

ttyl

Thanks so much for the intro girls--it's great getting to know you all. As for the Meet and greet I will go searching for the post and add it here and in the main forum in a bit. Sarah darling, you need to get your journal going so we can leave you messages too! I'm sure we'll all have a blast if we go to that Meet and Greet cuz who doesn't love a big party? Or maybe I like to party too much, who knows! Anyways Seanna who have such a beautiful name...love it. I think that it is great that you guys want to adopt children...there are so many that need a loving family. Sarah and Katie need to get more pictures up...don't be shy! You guys are all beautifull, and inspiring. If we can get to our goals together that would be so absolutely amazing. Not only for reaching our goals but for making friendships with people in the same situation. I'll have to admit that you guys will have to put up with alot of my bullshit. I don't whine, but I always have some dilema going on. But I love the drama. I promise you guys that I will be there for you too, and I'll listen to all the juicy drama that's going on in your life too!

So I talked to my DH tonight about possibly going to the Meat and Greet. We have been wanting to go to Vegas, neither of us has ever been....so, I dunno, we will see!! That would be so much fun!

Sarah, wow, you are quite the world traveller?! I would love to go to Hong Kong AND Europe. I have been out of the US three times, twice to Canada (once during a Niagra Falls visit and the other while I was in Washington State) and once I went on a cruise with my dad and stepmom and rest of my family to the Bahamas. I was young though on all of those vacations. Hopefully, I can convince him to go to the Meat and Greet!!!

Do any of you girls use Myspace?

Sorry I ignored the question before... I don't follow a specific plan as far as working out... I do between 2-5 miles on the elliptical or treadmill 4 or 5 times a week... and i do some weights every other day.

Does anyone recommend a specific plan? I could use more structure.

Well my name is Kerry. I am from New York and I am 25 years old. I got my Bachelors degree in psychology and I have a Masters in school psychology. I am currently working as a school psychologist in the Bronx, NY. This is my first year and it's a new adventure every day. I have decided to deal with the stress by hitting the gym as much as possible.

I don't have a husband, but I do have a dog named Riley. He is so bad, but I love him anyway.

I am repeating myself constantly on this forum, but since I am getting closer to my Dec. goal, I can't help but constantly talk about it. In August I decided that I wanted to get into my size 10 jeans by Christmas. I was a size 18 at the time. I thought it was a little risky goal, but possible. My goal wasnt to fit them comfortably... just to get the pants closed. I tried on the pants today and I am about 1 inch from getting them closed.... maybe less. I thought I had stopped losing, but when I tried them on a few weeks ago, they were about 3 inches from closing. With a little over a month, I think the goal is attainable. ahhhh!!

Here are some pics... just of my face... where you can see my progress a little.

In the end of August... I look like a linebacker!

A few days ago.

Kerry, you goal is totally attainable! I've heard from other people on the forum that sometimes the scale doesn't move, just the tape measure. And you have like a couple of weeks left so just stay concentrated. I know one thing, I have been on consecutively for a year in the beginning getting to goal and maintaining it for a really long time, then I did the diet on and off (and when I was off I was really really really bad!) But my body changed permanently and I never gained all my weight back. When I did gain weight back, it came back differently. I know exactly where on my body the weight came back, the fat came back on the places that I lost the first during my first initial stages of LCing. I find that amazing. Anyways, this time around I am being really good, but the scale isn't moving...so I'm hoping it's TOM or the tape measure is moving. Oh well. Today is a good day. Leelan ate fish and chips in front of me and I survived. My inner fat girl is keeping her mouth shut

Hi Girls!

Kerry good work!! Isn't it great how sometimes when you feel like you aren't losing, all of a sudden you put something on and you realize that you are?!?! I am so happy for you and I bet that if you stay on track you will be comfortably wearing those jeans at christmas dinner!! I need to make a mini goal for myself but i never have before so i don't really know what is reasonable. There are 5 weeks to Christmas--does 10 lbs sound unreasonable?

Anyways I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am going out on the town tonight (only vodka and soda and LOTS of dancing) and as soon as I get home from work i am going to hit the gym for my 20 mins of running. I have kept it up every day since Monday! And I am actually beginning to enjoy it.....okay talk to you all on Monday!!

Sarah...congrats on making it to the gym this week...that is great!! I wish I could say the same I hope you have fun out on the town! I am here doing homework for school. We have online assignments and two of them were due tonight. One I already have done and one is due in an hour! Ahhh!!

I think that 10 may be reasonable. I know that my average is only about 3 pounds a month (I am such a slow loser) but, I have seen it done by others. Plus, anything is possible!!

Kerry, congrats on them jeans girl! I bet that feels so good. I cannot believe that you went from an 18 to a 10 in like 4 months? That is AWESOME!! You will definately be in those for Christmas.

Lori...good job on not being tempted by fish 'n chips. Fried food is evil!

That is crazy that there are only 5 weeks until Christmas. Does anyone have any fun plans? I am going to Missouri to visit my grandparents. My whole dads side of the family will be there and we are spread out all over the country so it is fun when we all get together.

I havent posted in awhile....I'm 28, live in the beautiful state of Utah with my husband. We've been married just over a year but we've been together for 6. (I'm half Canadian and grew up in Michigan. I like to camp, ride my 4 wheeler, snowboard, hike, hang out with friends and family, love to see live music (outdoors) and love to be away from the city and in the mountains. We've got a cat (Timber) and a lab (Zeke). No kids (yet) but we hope to have a couple in the next few years (no plans for them just yet).

Last month I followed the Body for Life workout routine. Now I am pretty burned out on it. I am going to start the "Slim in 6" dvd series as soon as it arrives (I was hoping it would get here today, maybe tomorrow).

Truckgirl- I love my truck! I'm a Dodge girl, what about you?

I'll be posting more often. I just caught up on the thread so I'm up to speed.

Talk to you all later....

Sarah, that is so awesome that you make it to the gym constantly, you have to let me in on your motivation. 10 lbs is definitely do-able for Christmas! You still need to hook up a journal darling!

Guys, the scale moved this morning three lbs. I'm psyched now because I think I'll be able to wear my tight jeans to the Gwen Stefani/Ciara concert in 21 days. YAYA! As for my weekend, we had movie night at our friends place yesterday, and I'm studying tonight and tommorow. Yuck. We attempted to take our Christmas pictures around the city's hot spots, but my dog is really bad! Oh well.

Hi, Molly, I'm new to the group but I totally want to be involved in everyone's progress.
Katie, Missouri sounds fun, I've never been there personally, but I bet it'll be great. I have no fun plans for Christmas cuz I'm broke and our 8 year anniversary is coming up this Dec. 2. I haven't celebrated X-Mas in the last two years because it doesn't feel that special to me anymore. I noticed that my family gets really materialistic, so I've abstained from the commercialism of it all. I like to make my gifts. Have fun studying!
