Default Savella

Anybody taking this?

I've only heard of some of the side effects, not all. Wanted to get others' opinions before I get this prescription filled.

For me the side effects were temporary. Had an increase in energy, and it was effective against about 80% of my pain as well, but didn't work for my depression as well as Cymbalta had, so I went back to that eventually. If you've been in that flu-like all over body pain for some time, you will be amazed at how wonderful a big reduction in pain can be. I was hesitant about prescription drugs too, after taking Lyrica, and not tolerating the side effects. Just make sure you start with the titration pack-you need to start with a smaller dose, and work your way up to full strength-ask your dr for it if it wasn't already provided to you-much less nausea that way in the beginning. And take it with a meal, not on an empty stomach. I wish you well soon!!

I agree that it hasnt helped with my depression either but I had such debilitating flu like pain and it lets me function somewhat normally. I sure do know when its time to take the next dose because I get a little achy.

My husband's doc switched him to this for his RSD. So far it makes him very ill-sick at his stomach.

Savella (milnacipran) is very similar to Cymbalta (duloxetine), and increase the supply of serotonin and norepinephrine to your brain. The difference is that Savella gives your brain a larger boost in norepinephrine.

Savella may increase blood pressure and heart rate, and elevate liver enzymes. Also, it can cause pain and swelling of the testicles in men.

Savella made me very nauseous and I just tried Cymbalta - I feel like I have the flu. Not sure if that's a side effect or not.
