HI Kathy. As you can see, I am in Victoria(Just outside of Sidney actually.) I have been very low profile on this board. I was on and off again for so long, but have finally gotten myself together and have been on program for 1 month today and have lost 10 pounds. I thought it might be more than that, but am happy with the 10.
Just thought I'd say hi!!!

Hi Glenda, hey nothing wrong with 10 pounds in a month.

When you say you have been on and off, had you lost and regained or did you maintain?
I'm about 8 weeks into maintaining, sure as heck don't want to do induction again, lol

Nice to hear from lets hope some more join in.
Cheers Kathy

Kathy, I have been fiddling around with low carb for almost two years. Lost about 15 pounds originally, put about 7 back on, lost a bit more, put more back on. So over those two years I have now lost 22 pounds, 10 of those in the last month. Finally got my head where it should be!!!
I am trying to stay as close to induction as I can, with a few minor additions. After a month, I don't have hunger pangs anymore, and I seem to have no sweet cravings. I did have some low-carb pumpkin cheesecake last night, but guess what....... it was okay but I probably could have even done without it!!!
So will carry on the way I am and see how it goes!
Thanks for asking.

GLenda

Alright we have 3 from the Comox Valley , 2 from Victoria and 1 from Nanaimo. Has everyone started to make plans for Christmas yet? I just did my baking on The weekend and did not even sample once. Has anyone got any great recipes that they have tried on special occasions that could be used around Christmas time. All the old recipes I use will just not work for low carb.

Hi, Angie. I've GOT to say, the first place I go when looking for very special occasion recipes (like Thanksgiving or Christmas) is Karen Barnaby's fabulous Executive Chef recipes, right here on this website and that orange menu bar above, Low Carb Recipes ... to die for.

I've got my favourites stashed in MasterCook, too. And last year I 'whipped up' a low carb (but NOT low calorie) homemade Advocaat recipe, so I could make those fabulous Snowball drinks from my Dutch heritage. Brandy, eggs, spices...

Went into Overwaitea to purchase LC supplies - thought I would check to see if they had the lastest Atkins book - there is a waiting list and a 6 month back order!! I said that maybe that should tell the management something - like if this WOE is so popular maybe they should stock more LC foods! Hope the staff pass on the info to those in charge.

Default Gazelle

A gazelle is a glider type of exercise machine - I can't do most types of exercise or join exercise programs because of a knee injury, my weight joint pain and because I am house bound (look after youth with disabilities in my home). There is no impact but the machine not only has metabolic but also weight training as it uses your body as the weight - if that makes any sense. I hate exercise but love this. I started on Monday of this week and already I know my stomach muscles have tightened up. It is quiet, it folds up and comes with a video to time and suggest different exercises at your level. I have now made it to intermediate level. I bought it at Wal-mart in Courtenay. There are two sizes there and two different prices but I needed the larger one as the smaller one only went up to 235 lbs.
