Default How does my P.L.A.N. work

This is going to sound like a really dumb question, but...
I have entered two recipes into the my PLAN tool and am not getting any counts. All it says for nutrion values is zero. How do I get it to work? Thanks in advance for any help- Denise

I'm not quite sure what you are doing. Did you click on "Create recipe" before adding the individual ingredients?

Yes. Here is what I did: I went to new recipe, clicked on this. Then I went down to create recpe, clicked on that. I put in the ingredients (by c. and T.) and directions. The counts show zero, I even tried clicking nutritional info, still nothing. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I plan to c ontinue to fiddle with it. -Denise

I'm still not sure what's happening here, Denise.
I have just tried entering a new recipe, and all the counts come up.

Can you give me the recipe and tell me exactly what you entered, and how?

Okay here is the recipe (I copied it from the site so you would know exactly how I entered it)
chocolate flax muffins
1/4 c. pourable splenda
1/4 c. white chocolate sugar free torani syrup
1/4 t. baking powder
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. flax meal
3/4 c. whey protein powder
1 egg
1/8 c. cocoa powder
1 T. oil
1/4 c. heavy cream

Mix all ingredients and pour into muffin tins. Bake ~ 350 for 18 minutes

Thanks in advance! -Denise

But I still don't know exactly how you entered it.

I'll try just guiding you through exactly what to do to enter a recipe, and you can tell me if that's what you did.

First: Enter serving name, number of servings and recipe title, then click on "Create recipe."
That's when you enter the recipe ingredients. I have a feeling you are trying to enter the ingredients before clicking "Create recipe."
Could that be the case?

I tried again and did just what you wrote, I think I did this in the first place and got the same zero results. I give up! I know the muffins are fine, but I was just curious. Thanks for all your time -Denise

First, do as Rosebud described to create your recipe. Then, to add each ingredient, you must do a search. There's a little search box right below where you will see your ingredients listed after you add them. When the results show up from your search, you click on the one you want to add, then click on Add Ingredient. That will add the counts for each ingredient, so you get something other than just zeros, but it will not list it in the box where you write in your directions.

The way I do it is to start the recipe by listing the serving size, number of servings, and the name of the recipe. Then I click on Create Recipe. Next, I type all the ingredients into the recipe box, along with the directions, just as I would if I were typing it out on a piece of paper. Then I click on Update Recipe Instructions.

After that, I search for each ingredient, using the little search box, select the item I want, and click on Add Ingredient. As you add each ingredient, it will be listed below your recipe. If you are adding a food that is already in your favorites list, you can just click on it there, bypassing the search.

Once you have searched for all your ingredients and added them one by one, you're done. Go back to the Daily Entry page, and you will find your recipe in your usual list of food choices there. (You might have to refresh the page first.)

Don't feel bad. I had a horrible time before I finally figured this out. I probably never would have figured it out if it hadn't been for Tamarian guiding me through it step-by-step!

HTH!
