I started doing NHE this week, I will be basically doing atkins(carbs 20-30g) with a carbup (low fat) meal on Saturday night, followed by hard weight training(followed by 30min cardio) on Monday and depletion workouts on Wed and Fri 9with Cardio as well. Does this seem like it would work?

I have been going to the gym for four weeks now, and I am feeling great. I have not really lost any weight since then though, which is a little surprising. I need to get a bodyfat meter
is it worth getting those electronic scales or calipers?

My instructor has me on machines to build some basic strength, but I plan to get on the free weights as soon as possible.

One more question, I do a total body weights program on Mon/Wed/Fri, is there much advantage to splitting up targetted body parts, eg: Arms one day, chest the next?

Default NHE help please!

Hi
I've been doing NHE for about 3 weeks now, but I'm not really getting anywhere.
Basically I'm loosing well (a pound a day roughly) on the down cycle, but then I gain about 3-4 pounds from one carb up meal!
So it takes me until the next carbup just to get to where I started from!!! Does that make sense???
I've reduced carb up to one meal every 5 or so days, because I really worry about doing a carbup until I've lost the weight that I gained from the last carb up!
Sorry I think I've started to ramble!!

Any suggestions very much appreciated

Thanks
Jacquie

Is it bad to use low glycemic fruits like strawberries, pears, plums, or oranges as a carb-up? Thanks

New question!
I always drink alcohol at least once a week (on weekends). Would it be better to do this as part of a carb up or on a low carb day? I could think of a reason for both. If I drink on a low carb day, I'd get kicked out of ketosis and thus ruis probably mess up the rest of my low carb days until the next carb up. However, if I drink after eating carbs maybe the alcohol will be stored as fat. Any idea? Thanks
