Default Diet Pop and Dry Mouth

hello!

This is my 3rd attempt at LCD. My two previous attempts I had SEVERE dry mouth. I understad why this happens, but am looking for a way to better remedy it. Is a hard candy available?

Also, I am a diet pop addict ( shame) and I have never been given a clear answer on why the atkins diet forbids DP. I Have changed to Diet Rite, it has splenda.

In reflection, probably a good idea to rid myself of that pop anyway.

The only way is thru! Keep pushing forward.

There are several reasons for the advice against diet pop.

1. If it contains aspartame, Dr. A. felt it was not a good substance for people to eat.

2. Citric acid (in nearly every diet soda/pop/soft drink) can be a staller. It's also in Crystal Light.

3. Drinking sweet liquids may set off cravings for other sweet stuff. It is amazing how your taste will change if you can stay away from the sweet drinks for a couple of weeks.

4. If you drink pop/soda/soft drinks, you are less likely to be drinking as much water as you should. This last is possibly why your mouth is dry. I notice the same thing if I forget or avoid the water drinking that I should be doing. I also notice the difference in my voice & how tired I get. Being on LC is a diuretic in itself (makes your body put out water in the form of urine) so a person needs much more than normal.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for clarifying tha for me. I agree that the contents of DP are horrid, but it is another unhealthy habit to break. The more I drink water, the more I realize how good it is ...

good for ya too.
