Thumbs up Fat v muscle

So, I'm wondering away to myself the following and wonder if anyone can answer!
I exercise a lot, I do 5-7 spin classes a week, body pump once, body conditioning once, one abs class and an hours personal training every week.
I lost 9pounds the first 2 weeks and then nothing for 2 weeks and then 2 pounds nothing again for the past 3. My body shape is changing and the tape measure shows I am getting smaller. So I'm wondering if I am gaining muscle at the same rate I am losing fat? If you exercise a lot does your body constantly retain water?
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated! I am starting to axe myself is the exercise worth it! although I do love it, I'd love to see the scales move too!
Thanks xxx

That's a lot of exercise. I can't say for sure that you are gaining muscle at the *same* rate you are losing fat, but you definitely are changing up the ratios for the better. Kudos
