Default Gestational Diabetes help...

I'm not sure if there are still nurses on the board who can help me with this issue. But I'm 32 weeks pregnant and my doctors have told me I have GD.

I'm super depressed about this but trying my best to do what I need to. I was following a fairly sensible diet but have since eliminated any and all sugar, flour ( although I did try whole wheat the other day and it was a disaster...) I eat fruit (in moderation 2 pieces per day) LOTS of veggies, protein and occasionally some oats.

I already have a jacked up thyroid, (HYPO) and I've been struggling terribly with depression and rage.

I don't know what to do at this point. My doctors told me I can stop gaining weight, but even with watching my weight (at 32 weeks pregnant) and calories, I'm still gaining 1-1.5 lbs per week. So far I've only gained about 16-17 lbs, but have still been diagnosed with GD. I'm so beyond frustrated it's not even funny, and I'm not even sure I can make it to my due date I'm so uncomfortable. I don't remember my last pregnancy being like this. But I'm really struggling this time.

Thanks for all suggestions.

Definitely do your own research. Many experts believe that gestational diabetes is a red herring and is just a natural variation. I refused the tests because I felt it was pretty bogus after reading up alot on it. A friend of mine was just telling me the other about her prof who is a medical researcher/doctor who was spitting nails one day about what BS gestational diabetes is and how it doesn't really exist.
