Default Victoria November get together

We're not being hugely speedy about getting our planning in place ... are we going to manage a Nov. meal together? I have a thingy this Saturday, in fact the next three weekends are tied up, but other than that, the rest of the month is mostly free. Anyone up for a meal together?

Thanks for cranking this up, Glenda. I'm up for it; not willing to give up on y'all.

Dinner almost any night except Nov 18 (Wed) works for me - going to see Harry Potter at IMAX. Also 26/27 probably don't work for me - I have been talked into making a turkey dinner one of those days for US Thanksgiving (will also be on vacation).

A Sunday lunch would be ok too.....Saturdays tend to be chore days around here which means I tend to work through lunch.

I'd rather stay closer in town than go out to Ma Millers for dinner. I hate traffic!!!

If we end up in December - I am hoping to head to Seattle the first weekend to see some friends.

The 26th doesn't work for me either - we have a club meeting and we usually do Swiss Chalet beforehand with friends. The 15th or the 22nd would work for Sunday lunch - we have a show on the 29th so we'll be brown-bagging it, as we will this Saturday, the 14th.

I agree about staying closer in, especially this time of year when it's dark so early and the weather is so iffy. As far as food quality, to me that's not as important as the company and the ability to hear each other - I guess that means I don't much like Red Robin 'cause the din is horrendous! Any ideas?

Glenda - what is Swiss Chalet like in terms of LC?

Not particularly good! The chicken seems alright if you ignore the dipping sauce, I haven't tried ordering bare ribs and most of the sides are pretty carby although they might have steamed veggies - can't remember.

Here's a link to their menu - looks like there might be some possibilities there Swiss Chalet menu I usually just have an appetizer and a hunk of lemon meringue pie! Definitely an off-plan meal!

So, 22nd, is that a lunch or dinner, and where?

Probably lunch works better for me on a Sunday -- don't know where yet, but yes, Japanese sounds good. Anyone know any good places? Preferably one that does sushi and/or sashimi as well as cooked dishes!
