I cut it a bit short today, and I'm betting a lot of you can relate to this..

1st, this was a Wednesday making this day #3 in a row. I did my warmup - finished my calves, and then moved into squats. Those felt good but from there I moved into Incline Leg Press and I could "just tell" my muscles were defuled a bit. Strength wasn't the same and although I wasn't at a wall I could sense one.

Still had a good workout, but again a lil shorter than usual. I think I'm going to add a little brown rice to my meal this evening (not much) in addition to my normal routine, then may do that again tomorrow. Then hopefully after a day of rest tomorrow I'll be ready to attack it again by Friday.

Inclined Abs:
(none - but I normally do these here)
Cardio - Yoga
or Meditation:

Eliptical -

2 sprints + 2 working recoveries
Finished off with a Steam Room.

Added a new delt exercise today. For lack of knowing the proper term I'm going to call it seated rear delt flys...

You do it on the same machine I'm doing the seated pec flys.. All you do is adjust the grip position and turn around. I think I'm going to make this one a regular part of my routine as I've noticed my front delts are outpacing the rear. I liked it a lot.

Also a mental note: - Since changing my program seven days ago the yo-yo effect on my weight has almost come to a dead halt. It seems to be steady as a rock, or either going down. I'm attribuiting that to the 6 meals a day thing I'm now doing, plus being consistent with my daily gallon water intake.

Hope it keeps up..

Felt really positive today, and my energy is back at full swing from the other day. I also joined Dave Draper's Forums today, although, of course - HA! - this is still my home. I can recall oh-so-well when I was young, reading comic books - seeing his photo on the back cover and thinking OMG.. lol.. I had no idea he was still going strong, in fact, check out these two shots...

Then:

Now:

That's just unbelievable. And since he was a childhood icon of mine and also seems to be regularly posting in his forums tid-bits of motivation I think I'm going to enjoy crusing by there once in a while. There's living proof that us over 40 something folks can still rock.

HA!

Leg day for me on Monday and oddly I'm looking forward to it. Legs are usually my least favorite thing to work out, but now I find myself wanting to.

Hope everyone has a rockin weekend. And Cheers!

I think that may be a lil understated though as I slept until 9 o'clock this morning. My normal weigh-in time is around 7, and I've found that two extra hours of sleep does make a difference.

Legs tomorrow.

And cheers!

I did the Kundalini last night. Hit chest, shoulders, and tri's this morning. I also played around with a few different abdominal exercises. It's about time for me to make a change there.

1 set of 21 - hanging leg raises

Weights: (pushing)
4 sets - chest press
4 sets - inclined chest press
4 sets - seated flys (machine)
4 sets - shoulder press (drop-downs)
4 sets - dumbell lateral raise
4 sets - seated rear delt flys

4 sets - assisted tricep dips

2 sets - dumbell - behind neck tricep press

Inclined Abs:
1 set of 33
Cardio - Yoga
or Meditation:
Eliptical - 9 minutes

Not really enough cardio, but I felt like taking it in.. lol.. Maybe I'll do a little more tonight.

Following my workout I also did quite a bit of streaching while in the steam room and the jacuzzi. Also, setting a new goal for myself with is to touch my toes without bending my knees.. lol We'll see how it goes. I used to be able to do a full split, but now I can't touch ma' dang toes. I'm 5 inches away..

I also have an enlightening link to post today, - or at least it was enlightening to me..

Do You Want Bigger Biceps?
Quote:
Don't Preach.
The preacher curl is a favorite among many bodybuilders but it, too, is more of a brachialis exercise. Think it builds the lower bicep? Can't happen. The entire bicep is either activated or not. There is no "lower" bicep. What the preacher bench does is alleviate stress at the top of the motion making it essentially a "half" curl.
More at the link, but this was news to me. lol.. Tis also what prompted adding the inclined dumbell curls into my routine .. Still love preacher curls (always a fav) - but I'm going to only think of that as a finishing exercise from now on.

Also - HA!

And today's motivation:

http://davedraper.com/irononline262.pdf

I'm not ready to mix pushing-pulling yet (something Dave Draper seems to espouse), but I am finding a lot of inspiration by reading his daily motivations and weekly newsletter.

Legs on Friday - and Cheers!
