Default Deleting Foods from "Favorites" list

I went to My Favorites under Food Lists. I followed the instructions to check the box beside the food I wanted to delete, but when I went to the drop-down menu at the bottom, there was no "delete" option of any kind. Please tell me where I went wrong, so I can learn this aspect of MyPLAN.

What options did you find available in the drop down list?

Well, actually, the food is under "My Recent," rather than "My Favorites." The drop down menu gives me the options of:

Add to My Favorites
Add to Recipe Ingredients
Add to today's Breakfast
Add to today's Snack 1
Add to today's Lunch
Add to today's Snack 2
Add to today's Dinner
Add to today's Snack 3

Nothing else. It has occured to me that, since it's not actually on the My Favorites list, the foods might eventually just disappear on their own. Is that how it works?

I'd really like to remove them (there are more than one) from the list, because I used them back when I was still trying to do a "low fat" version of Atkins. Since I have increased my dietary fats, I've begun losing again. Today, for instance, I accidently clicked on the low-fat mayo, which was not what I had eaten. It took me awhile to figure out my error. (Hey, I'm an old lady and the eyes ain't so sharp anymore! )

TIA for your help!

Yes, the recent foods list items disappear eventually based on new items added.

A huge thank you, Wa'il! Your answers have really helped me learn to use this tool fully! I can even add my recipes now without first having to search the help forum.
