Question Flax Seed Help Needed

Hi all

i went out and bought a bag of flax seed after reading all your lovely posts about this great food. I dd however not remember to get GROUND flax seed. I just grabbed the first flax seed product i found. Its whole flax seed. I was plannig to take the flax with me to Aruba, i'm going on vacation for two weeks. I figured it would be perfect for brekkie and snacks. CAN is till use the whole seeds with hot water?? I know I won't be able to grinf them when i'm on vacation. Should i just go out and buy the expensive ground flax seeds and use that instead. Has anyone used the whole seed without grinding it? thanks all for your help. Also I was wondering, if I added a low carb protein protein powder to it, would that be good?

Ground flax seeds - and it's recommended that whole ones too -have to be kept refrigerated or in the freezer. Do you happen to have a cannister-type coffee grinder that you can take with you?

Many people swear by Flax-o-Meal cereal. If you're looking for a portable breakfast, it might do the trick.
