Default Help my jello legs and ghetto butt....please!

I'm decided once and for all to go all the way and do this . I'm currently at 158.5, not bad for one week. Yay. Anywho, my concern is my lower body. My parents are Cuban so some of you can understand where I'm coming from. I used to be in shape and have nice curves when I was younger I just never had that perfectly firm derier, Is that how u say it? A somewhat flabbier version of
J-lo ha,ha,ha but shorter. Well, now I'm concerned with the end result of my body after the loss. I have lots of cellulite all over my thighs and butt.

My question is, Does the obvious dimpled cellulite appearance diminish as I loose?
Or are there any specific exercises or treatments I can do. I just wanna look good in a swimsuit after 15 years.

Lipo is definitely out of the question..but I've heard of endermology but its expensive. Any exercise tips would help and well as success stories that will inspire me to work out. My plan is walking 2 miles 3 days a week and Pilates 2 days a week. Suggest anything, please. Thanks!!!

I'd stick with your pilates and walking, but add the Callanetics hips and butt exercises to your pilates routine. I haven't found *anything* like those exercises -- they're very hard, but they really isolate the hip and butt muscles, as opposed to things like squats and such which can't help but involve the muscles in your thighs. They're also really easy on the joints. Be patient with the exercises, they take a little bit to master, but once you do, there's no going back! You'll see results in an incredibly short time. This is a link to the Hips and Behind video; your local library probably also has one of her books, and there are many other videos.

One other thing: for the cottage cheese syndrome, I've had good luck with dry brushing. Five minutes before every shower with a stiff natural-bristle brush, circular movements, always towards the heart, all over your body. Pay specific attention to your hips and thighs, of course. You may want to "work up" to dry brushing -- try brushing in the shower first, just to get your skin accustomed to it. The brushing gets rid of dead skin and stimulates circulation, so your skin will glow and the improved circulation really helps with the cottage cheese!

You might also want to try a firming lotion, since you should be applying lotion after the shower anyway. I think Jergens makes a decent one.

And drink TONS of water, of course!

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. Before getting married, I used to dry brush and used a cellulite lotion that would get very warm. I've looked for it everywhere and think it may have been discontinued. It used to be advertised by this woman with an accent. Funny! But it did work. It was an infomercial type of thing back in 1990 or so.

Well I'll up my water to more that 8 glasses and I will definitely look into the video.

Thanks again.

P.S. If all else fails I'll buy lots of self tanner. he, he, he
