Default Finally Getting Somewhere...I hope!

I posted a few weeks ago under "Confused Need to Vent" about my preggo looking belly. Well...finally....after 1 gyno, 1 GP, an endocronoligist plus his nurse practitioner, 2 sets of thorough bloodtests (and I mean THOROUGH....everything...including 3 sets of thyroid tests), all which were coming out normal, I just KNEW something was wrong by my "menopause type" symtoms, etc.
So I went to yet another endo (my last try), begged & pleaded for either hormones or thyroid meds. She looked at my labs & said thyroid was normal, hormones showed normal....THEN she felt my neck....she said my thyroid was very enlarged, and prescribed synthyroid hoping it would reduce the size. (Now WHY didn't the 1st endo do this...he knew my thyroid was enlarged!) Well, it's only been a couple days & I already notice improvements! "Hot" feelings alot better, more energy, clearer thinking! Now, this endo didn't think the thyroid was causing the stomach fat, but I am hoping she's wrong (I'm already noticing less bloating). She's suspecting insulin resistance & wants me to go for the blood test for it (here we go again, it'll probably be normal!). I was tested for diabetes (normal), but since diabetes runs in my family the doc thinks I'm insulin resistant.
Anyway, want to thank everyone for great support & info, and if anyone has any other suggestions in view of this latest finding, please post.

Hi Cadillac:

That's awesome news!!! Well, not awesome that you have a problem, but awesome that you're making progess. LOL, you know what I mean. It's frustrating to have lab tests come back normal when you know something's wrong.

Just remember to use the "treat the patient, not the results" mantra if they want to keep basing their treatment plan on a lab number. But it sounds like you have a new Endo who's willing to do that already. Congrats, your presistance paid off!!
