Default Spren app for Body Composition

Thought had posted here about a new app to determine body composition, but now can’t find it.

It is called Spren and they are offering free access to beta-testers, as the information will help refine their database. https://www.spren.com/ Now available for both iPhones and androids.

I first used it in April. A week ago Spren calculated my body fat percentage 1.2% higher than the bio impedance scale today...close enough! Lean mass on Spren is only .3 lbs lighter.
If you are curious about your amount of lean mass versus fat mass, other body composition numbers, but don’t want to pay for a DEXA scan, these are two inexpensive options. A waist circumference less than half your height is just as good an estimate of health, but these numbers are data fun.

Scale info: https://optimisingnutrition.com/bioimpedance-scale/

You did post it somewhere, though I don’t recall where. I joined the waiting list and recently got the app. But I’m having trouble finding something suitable to wear.

The instructions say to wear form-fitting shorts that sit below the naval. Did you happen to have something like that sitting around? I might just wear a bathing suit…I wonder if they request shorts because they are transmitting actual images to their servers(?) and don’t want to be responsible for images that folks might not want made public. 🤷‍♀️

Just something not baggy.I use a pair of capri workout pants, slightly roll down the waist, and a sports bra. If a 72 year old woman in that get up excites someone, I would be surprised. A bathing suit should work. The trickiest part was to find the view with the phone, perfectly upright and including my entire body from feet to head. It turns green when you have it right.

Another new to me app, Me Three Sixty. and Spren update from my journal:

1. A few of us were "beta-testing" Spren last spring. Since my weight doesn’t change much, I stopped after 2 months. Big surprise yesterday when I logged on…totally changed how the iPhone (or Android) is positioned, new directions, new algorithm, new results! You may want to re-do. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spren...an/id1664503999

2. Reason I checked, was a DDF member recommended another app "Me three sixty"
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/me-th...ty/id1472541261

It also includes a Body Fat estimate, and Lean Mass, but rather than use the data estimates that are similar to a DEXA, it gives 15! measurements of your body parts; waist, stomach, calf, thigh, bicep, etc. The results from about two months on a DDF program were readily visible, with a high definition comparison sketch of her body at start date vs. what it is now. Will not be much change for me but if you want a visual record of your weight loss journey ahead, another fun app. If you typically lose from your thighs before the waist, or whatever…this gives your progress in cold, hard numbers.

Bonus for me, my waist is an inch smaller with the scan than a tape measure (have a hard time positioning at the same place). Also no judgment if a number is "healthy", healthy for your age, or overly fat…it's just a number…Compared to your own number on a previous date if you have one.

Maybe other fancy fitness trackers already have similar, but this little free app is news to me.
