He didn't address the calcification in the arteries that supposedly occurs if you take too much Vit. D. Dr. Mercola has been saying that the calcification isn't from too much Vit D, but rather from not enough Vit K2 when you are taking the Vit D3. I would really like to know more about this because I do take 10,000 IU of D3.

Does anyone know about the K2? I looked it up and it says it's in eggs and butter, which I eat daily, but it didn't say how much and neither did Dr Mercola say how much you need.

The Jaminets cover Vitamin K2 extensively in the new edition of the Perfect Health Diet. Suggests Vit K2 prevents Vit D toxicity and other comments on the interaction of D, K2 and A (it is a 12 page chapter).

I also find six archived articles on their website: http://perfecthealthdiet.com/catego...nts/vitamin-k2/
Net recommendation in the book is to BOTH eat vitamin K rich foods (green veg, butter, aged cheese, liver, egg yolks) and Supplement. Either 100 mcg of MK-7 daily or mixed formulations of several mgs Vit K2 weekly.

They have very specific recommendations in the book for the supplements they suggest and extensive explanations and study citations why they do.

The reason I question this is because Dr. Mercola says that Vit K is only for clotting, but Vit K2 works with Vit D to prevent the calcification. I realize that the Vit K is in dark green leafy vegetables and liver, but the only thing I found with the K2 was the butter and eggs. I wonder how much is in them and what it suggested as a minimum to go with the cal and Vit D3.

Stop reading Dr. Mercola for anything. The guy is so tainted by the products he sells, plus the dodgy research he cites that he's completely untrustworthy.
