Hi all. I am going on a road trip to Denver over Spring break with my kids to visit relatives. Since I will be in a car for seven hours then at a hotel and then eating out then on the road another three then eating out some more etc, what salad dressings should I choose in restaurants.
Please, no one tell me to make my own. I do not plan on totting a cooler around with salad dressing in it and worrying about the freshness of it. Perishables in the car stress me out.
I find that Honey Dijon or any kind of vinaigrette work the best for me-they don't seem to stop my weight loss or activate any cravings. Good Luck, and have fun on your trip!
Guess I should ask for it on the side to avoid a ruined salad! Too many times I have ordered a salad only to have it drowned in dressing! I mean really! Would you dump more dressing than lettuce on a salad? Would the wait staff want to eat that?!
Thank you for the replies. Gearing up for vacation (as much as one can be with a 4 and 5 year old). Plan to either maintain weight or lose during the next week.
The Atkins book indicates that Ranch and Caesar have the lowest carbs. I've settled on Ranch as a standard. I like it and it has a tart flavor that seems compliment the greens, for my taste.
Caesar seems to have the lowest carbs. But it's best to limit any of them to no more than 4 tablespoons.
