I can not at all figure out how to use My PLAN or what it can even do. I created a recipe thinking that is how you did it but now I can't figure out how to do the nutrition thing. Right now, it says 0 for everything. I really don't know what I am doing. I looked at the FAQ, it doesn't really give me the down low simple, stupid instructions that I need.

I am not a big computer person. I can't really figure out anything on this site so far.

Hello, Lanae! I had a hard time, too, catching on to creating recipes. If you look several pages back in this section, you will probably find some of the millions of questions I asked while learning.

First, you have to "create" your recipe, and it sounds like you did that just fine. For the second step, you have to look up and add each ingredient separately. You do that by typing the name of the ingredient in the search box that's right below your new recipe, then clicking the button marked "Search." A list of foods will be displayed. Find the one that matches the ingredient you used in your recipe, click on it to highlight it, and then click the button marked "Add selected ingredient." Repeat those steps for each ingredient your recipe calls for, until you have added them all.

After that, the zeroes should have all been replaced by other numbers. These numbers are for the entire recipe, not individual servings. When you enter a serving of your recipe on your Daily Entry page, the software will automatically calculate the correct numbers for the amount you ate.

Get all your ingredients entered, and if you have more questions, come and post again. I'll try to help if I can.

Hi Lanae,

I'm sorry you are still having trouble with your recipes. I tried to make the FAQ as simple as possible - mainly because I had such problems getting started myself.
I'll just repost the instructions, and if you could tell me what you don't understand, I can alter the instructions accordingly.

Q
How do I enter a recipe?
A
First, click on New Recipe at the left hand side of MyPLAN. Next, enter the name of the recipe, and number and type of servings. Then click on create recipe. That brings up the place where you can enter the recipe ingredients.
Once you have entered all ingredients, along with recipe instructions if you wish, enter the correct amounts then click on update servings.

Your recipe is now complete, and you can see the full counts there.

Recipes are automatically added to "Favourites." You can also find all your recipes by clicking on "Food Lists" at the left hand side, then clicking on "My Recipes" at the top.

Q
I made a recipe, but now I can’t find it.
A
Click Food Lists, at the left side of the page, and you’ll see My Recipes at the top.

Q
I want to change the ingredients in one of my recipes. How do I do it?
A
Go to My Recipes (click Food Lists first) and you will see edit beside each recipe. Clicking on that will take you to the page where you can change it.

Q
How do I delete a recipe?
A
Go to My Recipes by clicking on Food Lists. First click on the box beside the recipe you no longer want, then click on Delete recipe from the dropdown menu.
Note, if you have already used the recipe in a day's intake, you will only be able to delete the recipe after first deleting it from where you have recorded it in your daily intake log.

Please just keep asking as many quesions as you need to. We are here to help.
