Exclamation Help Me Choose!

I'm in the 4th day of induction, and am being treated to lunch and a movie by my father-in-law. We'll be going to a good bbq restaurant, and I need to know the best meat item to ask for. (I plan to save almost all of my 20 carbs for this meal). I know I can order salad there, but what's the best choice for meat. Pls answer promptly...time is running out!

P.S. Pls don't recommend I choose another restaurant (to keep peace in the family). Thanks much!

The safest choice for an LCer is a "Chicken Caesar salad - hold the croutons". You'll get a fairly plain piece of grilled chicken on a Caesar salad. Even if they bring the croutons, you can put them aside. You can even have bacon bits & extra Parmesan and still be quite a bit under the 20 grams.

Or how about a small steak with veggies instead of potatoes, or a burger (without the bun) and a salad?

Have lovely time.

Whatever you order remember grilled is good, but BBQ sauce is bad. BBQ sauces contain sugar, honey, mollasses, etc.. so try to stear clear of anything with BBQ sauce. When choosing a salad dressing remember fat is OK, but sugars are not. If a Ceasar salad isn't on the menu, get a Ranch, Blue Cheese, or Oil & Vinegar dressing. Of course rolls, bread, or cornbread are also out. Enjoy your meal out, and good luck.
God Bless,
Amy-Lynne

Default mmmm.....

Get a nice big piece of steak or a slice of prime rib. Sounds yummy. Then get a salad in place of the potato, rice or whatever other evil carb-filled item they try to throw at you. I always get strange looks from the waitress when I do this, but sometimes they'll even give you a discount for ordering the item in what they call 'a la carte'.

Actually, even the dry rub on ribs is not usually too bad. Just avoid the BBQ sauce type.
