Eugene's is awful. Just saying.

(At least the one on Fort and Foul Bay)

I'll go anywhere you guys decide! I just don't want you to be disappointed by Eugene's. I work next door during the day and have gone for lunch so many times...each time hoping...and it's just been bland. However, their tzatziki is AMAZING.

Didn't mean to sound negative!

Well bland would probably be disappointing ... I NEVER get to eat Greek as John can't stand the smell of feta cheese, so I'm at your mercy in this regard. Having said that, as far as I'm concerned, the smellier the cheese, the better!!! No suggestions here, I don't eat out very often in Victoria 'cause we eat out when we're "on the road" so home-cookin' is welcome when we're home. If we didn't have such a construction mess and complete lack of garden maintenance in our back common I'd volunteer our place for a barbecue, but as it is, not even remotely inviting! In fact, I haven't even fired up the barbecue for two years!! As Jude said one time when she made a delivery, it looks like the Apocalypse is here.

You sure I said that?! Ouch. Sorry.

BTW, weren't we talking Canoe Club for their delicious and quite satisfying (at least the fish tacos I had, and a real nice salmon "dip") appies? They have brollies and seats indoors too.

Eugene's has no patio, one way or the other. I like a view whether there's a patio or not (not to sound snobby...)

Canoe Club sounds good. I've never been there.
Greek food sounds good too.

Canoe Club works for me too as I need to go to Satin Moon Quilt Store so I'll be able to walk from the Fisgard Parkade to both places.

Don't apologize Jude - it hasn't improved much yet! Janet, my daughter HAS to go to Satin Moon at least once every time she visits Victoria too, although they have some good quilt shops in Nanaimo as well. She took me to a quilt show at the Conference Ctr awhile back - there was a man there selling Egyptian cotton sheets, 600 thread count, for $40 a set (including 4 pillow slips). I've been kicking myself ever since for not buying several sets!

I haven't been to Canoe Club either - sounds good to me. Swift St -- that's down off Store St isn't it? Between Capital Iron and the train station?

PS - Ooohh, I never thought of VV - I've been meaning to go there. I could use a few summery slacks and tops!

It's a date. If I'm a few minutes late, blame the golf course - gotta get my 18 holes in before it gets too hot!

PS ... is there an insider's trick to parking in the area?

60 and 90 minute spots on the VV side (whatever street that is). Headless meters!

If in doubt, the Capital Iron lot is there, just around the corner. Wend through CI, have a look at the spiffy teapots, then come on over...

If the weather's good, I'll try to swing by early (I'm free Sat) and nab a patio table for 6; else, I'll see what's going inside...hmmmmmmm, wonder if they'll book for Elsie for a group of 6...
