Took a long break from the gym - 3 days off! Felt pretty energetic yesterday morning, but played golf instead of going to the gym

Have house guests today so I figured I would do my carb depletion workout this morning then indulge a bit legally with the guests. Hee, hee.

Biceps 3x15x35/35/30
Triceps 3x15x35/35/30
Leg Press 3x15x35/42/55
Pull-ups 3x15x60
Dips 3x10x60
Calf 3x15x75
Skull Crushers 3x15x30
Shoulder Press 3x15x30
Lat pulldown 3x15x60
Leg Curl 3x15x60
Leg lift 3x15x52
Flies 3x15x45
Chest Press 3x15x60
Ab machine 3x15x70
Sitbacks 10/10/10

Then got on the treadmill for a bit of a jog
5 min at 6.0
1 min at 7.0
2 min at 6.0
1 min at 7.5
2 min at 6.0
1 min at 8.0
2 min at 5.5
1 min at 8.5 (Wow)
5 min Cooldown

What a depletion workout! Pretty wobbly as I fumbled the Myoplex open, but feeling much better as I sit here and type.

Did notice a 10-15 yard gain on my golf drives yesterday - any improvement is good, good, good!

To join a long list of special occasions that I spent in the gym this year, I headed to the gym for St Paddy's day. Where, instead of singing and playing the tinwhistle and downing a beer or two in celebration of my heritage, I worked out on the elliptical trainer (to the tunes of the Pogues at least), sweated a lot, and drank a liter of water.

I was doing fine today until I got home from work, when for some inexplicable reason I grabbed the bag of cheese goldfish that didn't get eaten at the party yesterday and ate it. All of it. This was not good, I told myself. At least I managed to get my lazy butt off the couch oand off to the gym to try to do some consequence management.

Burned 550 calories, 3 miles in 45 min lvl 12 hills.

Don't think I got rid of the whole bag, though. I guess I'll have to go back in the morning for weights...

Went in for weights this morning, although not at 6 am like I should have! Started off the morning with 2 cups of coffee, then a Myoplex LC with a scoop of protein powder, then 45 minutes later got to the gym. Did a full round of heavy weights Dr. Bernstein style, followed by 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer. Pretty zonked by the time I finished!

Biceps 20x70-40
Triceps 20x50-30
Leg Press 20x95-55
Pull-ups 3x30, 12x40
Calf 12x135
Skull Crushers 10x45. 5x30
Shoulder Press 12x50-40
Lat pulldown 4x105, 8x90, 5x75
Leg Curl 4x90, 12x75
Leg lift 8x90, 8x75
Flies 20x75-45
Chest Press 4x105, 8x90, 15x75
Ab Machine 12x80
30 sitbacks (10R,C,L)

ET 30 min lvl 10 reverse, 285 cal, max HR <156

Treadmill tomorrow for some intervals.

Slept in instead... Felt pretty good when i got up, though. Dinner out tonight with a New Zealand diplomat, which should be fun but will keep me out of the gym. That's ok, I'll make up for it in the morning.

Treadmill today on 2 cups of coffee & 2 betalean.

5~6.2, then intervals of 1~ 7.0, 7.2, 7.4, 7.6, 7.8, 8.0 with 2~6.2 recovery.

2 miles in 18:28, 3.1 in 28:48
Total (incl cooldown) 3.5, 381 cal
Max HR 187, AVG 168

Felt pretty good, although my HR was never as low as I would have liked. The weather is starting to get good enough to transfer to running outdoors (yay!)

Skipped the carb-up this weekend, and went to the gym for a medium weights workout.

Biceps 20x60-40
Triceps 20x50-40
Leg Press 20x95-55
Pull-ups 12x40
Calf 12x135
Skull Crushers 12x30
Shoulder Press 12x50
Lat pulldown 12x90
Leg Curl 12x75
Leg lift 12x90
Flies 12x60
Chest Press 5x105, 4x90
Ab Machine 12x80

Not the most motivated I've ever been. Hopped on the elliptical trainer, but hopped off again at 6 minutes. I forgot my CD player this morning, and it's too boring without it.

Got some friends coming over to eat all my frozen foods - can't take it with you, you know. Gotta get vacuuming!

PT Test - got a 290. 40 pushups, 81 situps and 18:20 2-mile run. Good score, but the effort to get it was much higher than last October's... Got to get to the gym more than 1x/week!

Still not getting to the gym very often - but the bowflex is getting used more now. Trying to get my daughter hooked on it - a real challenge!

Well, I'm down to walking being my prime form of exercise. This is not good...

Good lord - my workouts have gone from 60 to 0 in just a few seconds! But the huge project at work is over (TG) and I can start getting back to the gym. I hate starting over - especially when I turned 40 in the interim! DD is on crew now, working out 2 hours a day - man I wish I could!

Well, work has continued to be horrid - I feel like I have been chained to the desk. I made a new years resolution to get back into working out. Dragged the Bowflex out of the spare bedroom and have either used it or worked on demolishing the kitchen (great upper body workout - hee hee) every day. Keep truckin!

Back to square one, again, again. Been working out daily for a week with power half hour stretch then SN6. Hoping for some good progress this week, with having to be at school all day keeping me from munching.
Yesterday had to stop the workout after about 45 minutes - too tired to do anything. Stayed that way all day! Better today, though.

Back from Afghanistan, where low carbing was REALLY hard. I have plenty of mess hall food weight gain to get rid of, but am working on it. Workouts are hard with two messed up feet and a bad shoulder, but they're getting better every day.
