Default Cinnamon gummy candies

Tonight I tried making gummy cinnamon candies. They are different! I used 6 pk of Knox unsweetened gelatin in 1 c of water with about a tsp of cinnamon and a sprinkle of cayene pepper. I also added a few drops of red food coloring just so it would look more like candy. I poured it into little molds while it was hot.

I'm thinking this may be something I can carry with me in my purse. If it melts, I will just use more gelatin next time. But this should have almost no carbs and have the ability to raise the metabolism (cinnamon).

"Different" how? Do they taste like cinnamon candies? I tried making some with cinnamon extract but forgot to add the sweetener LOL and haven't tried again!!

I actually put about 3 shakes from the cayene pepper shaker and it was a little bitey but I liked the taste. Next time I will put the spices in water and heat it and then strain it through a coffee strainer or cheesecloth. What happened was that the spices settled to the bottom giving the top of the candy (when it came out of the mold) a dry and really spicey taste. I think they would have been really great without all that concentrated spice.

I will make these again, because I like red hot cinnamon candies.

you can try using a drop of cinnamon oil instead of cinnamon. It might blend better.

I really want to make this too but right now I don't have enough gelatin in the house ... but I do want to ask you, who have made it and ate it are your finger nails growing pretty because gelatin is good for beautiful strong nails you know! Just a extra right? I can't wait to try it but is is 0 carbs anyone know for sure?

I wonder how they'd be with some erythritol as one of the sweeteners - the cooling effect might be very good with a hot cinnamon candy!
