Default Has anyone tried God's Diet?

A while back I remember reading God's Diet by Dorothy Gault-McNemee. Basically it uses as its guideline the motto "If God didn't make it, don't eat it." In other words, we should limit our intake to what we can pick, pluck, scale, or butcher.

I have never tried it and I am not wanting to delve into religion, just wanted to know if someone tried it and how it worked.

Thanks!

Thats pretty much the paleo diet - so take a look on here and see whats been said. But to me its a very logical diet and yes, thats how we evolved to eat

That's pretty much what 'eating clean' (no processed foods) is...I've done that (with the exception of some restaurant meals) for about 10 years.

Hmmm... I suppose you could argue that god made everything, therefore you can eat everything. It is just that mankind has rearranged some of the molecules.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the comments. I swear before the media and internet, that eating healthy was a lot easier. Every week there's a new study. One of the best books I ever read was Dr Dean Edell's....Eat, Drink and be Merry. It is so common sense. Cya.

in this day and age. nope not happening for most people. everyone in a high rise condo isn't having chickens in the basement storage building and killing their own chickens for meat at my townhouse I couldn't raise a beef for my liking.

God's Diet was being eaten by all in the old days when you did butcher your own food or you went hungry and died. deer hunting to feed your family.

if I take it as 'limit to WHAT WE CAN PICK PLUCK SCALE OR BUTCHER, then I take it to mean I produce my own meats at my house. ---or can we cheat and buy organic from a farmer and that is called fair??? lol

Dr. Edell said "Eat whatever you damned want, but eat less". That's simple alright, but not sensible to me, when there's abundant evidence that carbs are a major health problem, as are also non-organic food ingredients.
