Default Coffee Causes Achy Joints?

Looking for information on how coffee makes joints ache. Any one experience this or know someone?

No. How do you know it's coffee? When I eliminated wheat and all other grains, I no longer had joint pain or discomfort. Coffee? I drink it every day with no negative experiences.

It is my son. He is swearing off coffee. He said the last 3-4 times he drinks it, joints ache the next day.

This kid started drinking it at 5... stealing from my mug. Leaving me an empty mug. lol

why is it bothering him now....

ya, he is a teen that sucks down bread....I feel like I m pulling it out of his mouth.

I will continue to battle that front, lol

Im concerned he already has arthritis or similar joint inflammation. Like a juvenile arthritis or something else.

all the more reason to make him eat a far better diet.....

I've never heard of coffee contributing to that kind of inflammatory reaction, but the things that commonly cause it can take days for the pain and swelling to start. That makes it tough to find the culprit (if there is one) unless you want to do a really tight elimination diet.

Best of luck to your young man. I know I wouldn't have been ready for this as a teen... unless the pain got unbearable.

Just adding this to the topic, not suggesting anything about your teen son, but in addition to grains and sugar, my joint/ knee pain increases with alcohol.

That fits with grains and carbs for sure. He had an opportunity to try a few drinks at a family wedding recently......will ask him if that affected him.

It's so hard to determine causation at his age. The symptoms might go away as quickly as they came. It could be an underlying virus. If it continues, an elimination approach might help, but I'm mindful that when I was that age, discipline and consistency were words I heard from adults, and I practiced them in my own way . . . .

Sometimes if they're going through a growing spurt, it could be growing pains. Is he getting taller recently?

no. He is done growing. No increase in height for several years. He was shaving at end of 11 years old.

He says its the coffee. Im thinking what is going on in those joints that coffee is bothersome.

Funny howvmany issues come back to diet. While researching juvinile rhumatoid arthritis.....came upon this.https://coachart.org/blog/natural-r...ase-discomfort/

Not saying he has this, rather noting how diet can improve sooooooo many issues.

elimination diet and test run more coffee....
