My gene test reveals I have 2 gluten sensitivity genes but neither of the main Celiac genes. Something like 95% of celiacs have the main genes. I could be in the 5% or I could just have the same reaction to gluten as a celiac. I was just told I need to be on a gluten-free diet for life and that it was causing damage to my tissues and I had malabsorption (lost 25 lbs.) Its only been 4 weeks since diagnosis but I've already gained back 10 lbs.

The GI said they still dont have all of the scientific data about the genes. There are more genes involved and they don't know them all at this time. He said he cant rule out celiac based on my gene test. I was stressed about all this at first but I was told its all the same no matter what you call it Celiac, Intolerance or Sensitivity. The treatment is the same...no gluten. So technically I don't know if I'm Celiac or not but I have to act as if I am to prevent further damage.

We've sort of hijacked, Kharma's thread. I'll start a new topic on this. Sorry Kharma!

My antibodies test came in the mail today. Not sure what it means, except I tested positive (134 normal range 0-34) and they wrote "you do have autoimmune thyroid problems"

I called to see if they could explain a little more (I'm not familiar with this) but they're closed until Monday now.

Default What I do to calm down Armour

I chew a Tums about an hour or two after taking one grain of Armour in the am if zi feel hyper and it calms me down. Had thyroid removed in 2000. Never had a problem with Armour intil I took diabetes meds which made my Armour make me race hyper. Off diabetes meds and controlling by diet and back to my regular dose of Armour 60mg in am 30 mg in evening. Still get a little anxious in am and the Tums helps
